A Simple Sunday

After spending all day Saturday soaking up the sun on the beach, we felt that Sunday should be a chill one relaxing at home during the early day until my family came over for some supper and board games (a little Sunday tradition!). The only moment we had to step out of the house was to head on over to the grocery store for some food shopping. That [luckily] did not require me to get too dressy.

I find this t-shirt to be perfect! From the fit to the fabric, it’s definitely one of my fav’s! I received this as a gift a little over a year ago from one of the hubby’s cousins. I actually told her to buy it for me so that I could pay her back, but as sneaky as she is, turned it into a Christmas gift. Rebecca, thanks again for this awesome tee! Still wearing it and loving it! :)

I feel like most of my posts lately have been of me in shorts. I have mentioned many times that I do love a great pair of shorts, but I thought I’d give you something different by pairing the tee with a skirt. You’ve seen it before here, but I find the t-shirt gives it a different look. A little bit of a sportier vibe. I should’ve/would’ve paired this all with a pair of Converse, but my sandals were already by the door waiting for me. Next time! ;)

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, and stay classy!

Not Your Typical Denim Shorts

When it comes to heat, I LOVE a great pair of shorts. Gym shorts, suit shorts, denim shorts, I absolutely am infatuated (I know that’s a strong word, but it’s true!) with shorts! So when I came across this pair, with the stand-out of the splatted colors, I knew I had to own them! It also helps that I found them on special ;)

When I think of denim shorts, first instinct; blue. Then, I guess you would say white. After that, colored, but these are on a whole other level. I adore the fact that the colors are not super bright, but you do still have those hints of yellow and pink thrown in there.

Now, at first thought, I was heading for a white tank, and then stopped myself mid-track when I then caught, at the corner of my eye, my striped, neon yellow tank I first wore here. I mean, why not?? Adds more character to an outfit (and love mixing prints). And to not over-do it, I threw on my black blazer and some black ankle-strap heels.

It’s Thursday!! And you know what that means? Ladies night at so many restaurants!!! Oh, and the weekend’s a day away ;) Stay Classy, Realists!

Camo & Stripes

Ok, I’m convinced mother nature is bi-polar…Monday, I’m wearing shorts and a tank, and yesterday, back to jeans and a cardigan. So far, summer hasn’t been consistent around here, so I’m just crossing my fingers that the nicer weather that’s coming today, will be staying with us!

Because of the rain outside, I opted for taking pictures indoors. As for the outfit, I was in a camo kind of mood, and to spice it up a little, I paired these jeans with a striped cardigan. I also thought I’d go for something a little different by wearing this beanie I received as a gift quite a while ago. Honestly (and I’d like to apologize to my sister for this), I don’t think I’ve ever really worn this hat before…but I’m happy I finally decided to break it out!! It adds a little subtle interest to an overall casual outfit.

Have a lovely rest of your day, Realists, and join me in crossing our fingers for warmer weather! Stay classy!

Family Fun

Yesterday night, we all went to check out an annual family fun fundraiser going on close to our home. It was held in a school yard with many fun activities such as bouncy castles, pony rides, and a few local restaurants with food stands.

Once again, just like my La Ronde outfit, I didn’t want to end up wearing yoga pants & running shoes, so I chose to put together a loose tank, paired with these super comfy, high-waist trousers.

I love these pants because I’ve really worn them every way possible. With heels, boots, sandals, sneakers. You name it, I’ve already paired them together. They’re such a versatile pair of pants, and because they’re in a cargo material rather than a dressy material, as well as bear a looser fit, dancing around with kids makes it that much easier ;)

Have a lovely Thursday, and stay classy, Realists!

Color & Stripes

Hello, Realists! First off, I would just like to apologize for my absence yesterday. After going grocery shopping in the morning, I came home to no electricity! Which meant, no internet, ending in, no posts. But I’m back, and hope you had a lovely weekend!

Montreal this weekend was quite gorgeous. We did have those nasty spells of thunder and rain, but luckily for us, the best hours of the day were nothing but sunshine!!

When it comes to warm weather, one of our favorite pastimes is spending the day at La Rondea great amusement park we’re lucky to have here. As a teenager, I would go almost every weekend with friends. Now that my girls are old enough, and seeing as how they take after me and LOVE going on all the rides (as opposed to the husband who gets a headache just looking at them!), we make it a point to bring them here as often as we can.

Now, amusement parks don’t mean you have to wear sweat-shorts and running shoes. I still like to casually dress up, all the while still staying comfy and sporting an outfit I can easily move around in. Here I am wearing some bright orange shorts, (that I scored in Vegas from Banana Republic for $10!), paired with a striped tube top (no, I wasn’t scared that my top would fall. Kids’ rides really don’t go that fast, and I can get a better tan ;)). At first, I was going to put on a brown belt, and then felt like brightening up my outfit a little more with a mint green belt. Those added touches ;)

Hope you all had a lovely beginning of the week! Stay Classy.

Finally, some heat!

Yay!! Montreal has finally decided to start warming up (Mind you, the weather still calls for thunder showers in the next few days, but I’ll take it if it comes with 25+ degree heat)! So for all you ladies & gents over here in the beautiful city of Montreal, get ready to start showing some skin, because I can feel the sun beginning to beam down :)

I kept it casual and simple today with a loose tee, a skirt, and some converse. An outfit like this can be completely changed with just the switch of a shoe, or even a different top. So versatile, and yet, still looks cool. I also have to add that I think these $10 sunnies from Aldo have slowly made their way to being my favorite pair at the moment. Round sunglasses are pretty popular this season, although, I personally have always had a soft spot for them (I’d like to thank Johnny Depp for that). I find this particular pair to be the perfect size for my face. Must search for more!!

On another note, the girls decided they wanted to take part in today’s photoshoot, so please enjoy the pictures! Enjoy the rest of your day, and stay classy!

Running Errands in a Striped Maxi

Happy Monday, Realists! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We spent it…inside. Both days indoors. The weather this weekend was far from “let’s spend the day outside” type of weather. Cold, rainy, and just overall gloomy. So we opted to just have some quality time at home all together :)

Not going out = no outfits. No outfits = no posts. No posts = no good. Don’t worry, I’ll make it work! ;) Not the first time I’ve done this. I have some errands to run today, so I figured I would snap some pictures, come back in, write a quick post, and then continue about my day.

A maxi dress. That perfect piece of clothing that allows you to be comfy and stylish all at the same time. They’re so versatile, have so many styles, and can really be worn at pretty much almost any occasion. Bold prints, stripes, solids, a maxi dress comes in so many personalities. And depending on how you style it, your whole ensemble can completely change. You can pair them with sneakers for a more sporty, casual vibe. Sandals for a cute and everyday look. Or heels for a classy, going out for a nice supper look. Oh, the possibilities!

I opted for a striped maxi with some comfy sandals. Easy to run around in, all the while still looking chic. I topped it all off with a straw fedora.

Now I’m off! Hope you’ll have a wonderful Monday, and stay classy!

Muscle Tank; The finale!

Today is the finale of our “DIY muscle tank” outfit combos. We had casual/chic, then I gave you sporty, yesterday was full of clean and sharp details, and today, I give to you something that is pretty much expected of a rocker tee…an everyday, grungish look! Something I would definitely wear to a concert, or just strolling around doing some shopping.

A pair of jean shorts, some black high-knee socks, a striped cardigan, all topped off with the ultimate cherry; a classic pair of black Chucks. Comfy, cute, and can really be worn all day, everyday. This whole outfit makes me feel like a teenager again ;)

And there you have it! The conclusion to this weeks DIY! One shirt, 4 ways. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Did anyone jump on board with me during this? If so, I would love to hear about how you styled, or would style your own muscle tee! While on this note, I would also love to bring you some more DIY’s in the future! Realists, any suggestions?? I’m very interested to know what you would like to see next! Until the next post, as always, muscle tee or not, stay classy ;)

Spring? Oh…just “second winter”

SONY DSCYesterday was the first day of spring! Unfortunately, for us Montrealers, we had a 25cm snowfall the day before…Good times… You now what I say? Screw that, mother nature!! You can’t stop me from pulling out my spring wardrobe! I just have to tweak it a little and make it more “second winter” friendly ;)

So, here you go! A dress!! Paired with a comfy sweater, some stockings, and over-the-knee boots. An outfit that can be worn on many occasions; lunch, movie, or even strolling the mall. I just can’t wait until I can sport some dresses without having to cover my legs ;)

Wherever you are, how was your first day of spring? You do anything to celebrate? Or was it just as cold as it was for me? Love to hear your stories!

Until next time, stay classy realists ;)

Stripes. One of my all-time favourite go-to graphics. There’s something about a classic stripe that makes me instantaneously fall in love. Let us consider the fact that I am a sucker for perfect, nautical inspired fashion. Understandably though, most people tend to stray away from this print for one main reason … “Stripes make me look fat!” But who said that the only way to wear them is as a horizontal striped shirt? There are countless options that you can lust after, let it be shoes, scarves, hats, or even a bold stripe clutch. This spring, we’re seeing stripes as one of the central trends to look for, so to help make your shopping lives a little more effortless, I’ve put together a collage of a few ways you can make a stripe print work perfectly for you.
Happy shopping!
