Lace Playsuit

Afternoon/evening, fellow Realists! Happy Tuesday!

As you can see, it’s been a little bit of a challenge to be able to post as frequently as I used to. Having to balance family, our house, and now my new job, I’m still working on getting it all together so that I can get back to writing daily posts, or at least 4 days/week ;)

Since it’s official that there’s no turning back to warm weather for the next few months, adding tights/stockings to summer favorites are pretty much the best way to make your items fall friendly. When I first saw this playsuit make its way into the store, I instantly had a connection to it. Funny thing, I thought it was a dress at first, and after finding out it was actually a romper (if you’ve been following me for a while now, you can understand my love for shorts), I needed it even more. It’s interesting because this is actually not a piece I would usually see myself in, but it’s always nice to try on new pieces and step out of your box of comfort :)

What tips do you have on transitioning your summer favorites fall/winter friendly? Stay warm, Realists, and stay classy!

SONY DSCI FINALLY made it to the salon to do my hair. Stay tuned for full colors next post ;)

SONY DSCI know this is probably a “photographers mistake”, but clearly we are no professional photographers, I kinda really like the way this photo came out :P

Red, White & Blue

If you’ve been following me for a while now, you would know that I’m far from American, but I do have family, friends & readers who are, so I thought I would put together a little 4th of July outfit to help celebrate!

If I were taking part in this national holiday, this is an outfit that represents the country, without being too literal. You can always be passionate about what you’re dressing for, it’s just always good to keep in mind not to be “crazy” ;)

To all my fellow Americans, have an enjoyable 4th of July, and to all my Realists, stay classy!

P.s. Please don’t mind all the scratches and bruises. Those are all the after-effects from the race ;)

Fashion star!!

Tomorrow night, March 8th 8pm est/7pm cst, is the premiere of Fahsion Star. A show about up-and-coming designers trying to get their name out into the fashion world. I watched the last season, and have to say, that I was much more fond of it than I thought I would be! At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but ended up enjoying it the whole way through. It also helps that you’ve got interesting judges. I LOVE Nicole Richie! If she was the only one on panel, I’d still watch it weekly! Alongside her, you’ve got Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos. Personally, I wasn’t sure about Jessica Simpson being there, but I felt she worked well with the other judges and the show in general. The overall concept is quite interesting and fun to watch, so I’m looking forward to the premiere tomorrow!

On that note, today I thought I’d post some photos of a blazer I own from the first season. It was actually a friend of mine (Shanna Gervais, an OUTSTANDING interior designer if you ever need one! ;)) who bought it for herself, but upon receiving it, realized she didn’t quite like the way it fit, so I bought it off of her! The designer’s name was Orly Shani, and this was most likely my favourite piece by her. The lace insert on the back was something quite different and really catches a person’s eye.

Will any of you be tuning into Fashion Star with me? If you watched the previous season, who was your favourite designer or piece? Love to hear your thoughts.

Stay classy, realists.

“Winter, winter, go away. Spring must come so we can play!”

Over here in Montreal, it’s starting to get somewhat nicer…yes, I do realize it had just snowed about 10cm the day before yesterday, but today is shining bright with sun and is a whopping 3 degrees! Come at me spring! I’m so ready for you! On that note, I decided today I would post an outfit with a bold piece hyping me up for the warm weather. Enter the hot pink pants!

I stand true to the rule of “no white pants during winter”, reason being, why would you want to walk around with the high chance of getting slush all over your pristine, white pants? I mean, It’s hard enough to keep white clean during the summer, let alone days where cars are driving by you, not giving two sh*ts if you’re casually walking on the side-walk …damn those drivers…

Anyways, sidetracked ;) But yes, throughout winter, I feel the same way about colored pants as I do white. Obviously, that’s just me, but I prefer to keep my pants dark and brighten my days with other pieces, such as sweaters, scarves, hats, etc. Now, considering I’ve had enough of winter, and as mentioned, the weather is somewhat warming up, I assured myself that it was in my favour to pull out the pink pants. I chose to pair them with a neutral, beige top. The feature that drew me to this top most was that it reminded me of an awesome 80’s mullet; business in the front, party in the back! How can you go wrong with that? Paired with simple black booties, topped off with some gold arm candy, and voila! My “I can’t wait for spring to arrive” outfit!

Dear readers, do you have any spring pieces you can’t wait to pull out?? Or already have? ;) What’s your take on white/colored denim during snowy days? I’d love to hear what you think! Until next time, peace out, fashionistas! :)

Cats, dolls, and nightwalks

Hey there!! As mentioned in “Wishing for warm weather”, the hubby is away for work so I unfortunately have no one here to help snap some shots of outfits (boo). Luckily, I have some pictures saved from a night out a few weeks ago. This outfit is quite appropriate because my eyes were so irritating that night that I had to omit wearing contacts and don a pair of frames, and yesterday, the post was conveniently about just that, glasses!

I found the cat-eye frame to add character to the lace, baby-doll dress. The overall ensemble was quite “sweet” looking, which is why I decided to top it all off with my most comfortable, and easiest to walk in, nude nightwalks. Those shoes are by far one of the most coveted items I own. Contrary to what they look like, I’ve never walked with such ease in a pair of 6″ heels. If you own a pair, you understand exactly what I’m talking about. If you don’t, you need to go out and try them to find out exactly what I’m talking about! Along with that, who doesn’t love a pair of black opaque, over-the-knee stockings? ;)

Wherever you are in the world, have a great Friday/Saturday! ;)
