3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

SONY DSC

Target has finally opened up in Montreal, which means it now only takes me 5 minutes to get to one, rather than taking a little over an hour as well as having to cross the border. If you’re a fan of Target, than you can feel the happiness I, as well as many other Montrealers, have with this new addition to our city.

The 3.1 Phillip Lim collection for Target had launched a couple of days before the stores opened up here, which made it even more exciting. As much as I didn’t want to attend a grand opening of Target, I did want to try and snag anything left of the collection. Luckily, I went on the 2nd day (I know, still sounds crazy), but really not that bad!! All the cashes were opened, which made the line go pretty quick, and I luckily found 2 shirts to add to my closet. Today, shirt #1. A blue, sheer back tank, that instantly called my name. The loose fit and long back are two characteristics I love most in a top, and for $20, you can’t go wrong!

Realists, did any of you take a chance to look at the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection for Target? Any purchases made?

Happy hump day and stay classy!

SONY DSCHere you can really see the contrast between the cotton front and mesh back. Also, how cute is that bow ring? Found it on the 2-for-1 wall at Aldo :)

Week of Style; Plaid Shirt – Day 1

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

Happy Monday, Realists! Hope you all had a great and fulfilling weekend :) As mentioned on Friday’s post here, today is the 1st of day of a new ‘Week of Style’ featuring a plaid shirt.

As I was strolling through my local Maxi, I slowly walked by (as I always do) the Joe Fresh section of the store. Browsing through, looking for a specific dress I just previously saw on a commercial, I then proceeded to catch eyes with this wonderful plaid shirt. First in blue, and then black. I quickly ran over, touched it, and knew it had to go into my shopping cart. Best part? $19! It’s so hard nowadays to come across decent looking clothing, made out of comfortable fabric, for a reasonable price. Joe Fresh really hit all the marks with this one.

I immediately wore it that same day (I usually wash my clothing first, but was really itching to wear it right away) with some skinny jeans and flats for a casual outfit to the mall. The 1st way I wanted to show you how I would dress this shirt is by bringing up the style a notch and adding a nice watch, some bracelets, and a pair of high heels. Still quite casual, but adding heels to an outfit always make it that much more interesting. I also threw on some dark pink lipstick to bring a little color to the whole ensemble. Not a lipstick girl, but still feel like brightening up your outfit a bit?? I always love adding some colored heels to tie it all together. They for sure know how to make an outfit that much more interesting.

Keep reading for the remainder of the week to find out a few more ways on how I would style a plaid shirt. Have a wonderful Monday, and stay classy!

3 Outfits for a Chilly/Rainy F1 Weekend

This weekend in Montreal, it’s all about the F1 Canadian Grand Prix. Race car drivers have been circling the laps of our Circuit Gilles Villeneuve  race track since 1978, so you can say to us Montrealers, it’s basically become a holiday. The streets are full of fancy cars, our top restaurants are booked way in advance, the clubs are popping with partiers galore, and of course, there are beautiful women everywhere.

The weather is usually quite fair, but this weekend we are experiencing some chillier than usual air. There is also some spurts of rain throughout the days, but that doesn’t stop us from being able to enjoy this once-a-year racing extravaganza. It also doesn’t prevent us stylish Montrealers to dress to impress! Here, I’ve featured 3 different ensembles that’s suitable for the weather, as well as the occasion. 1st, we have the casual day outfit, 2nd, the racing outfit, and 3rd, the night time outfit!

Will you be joining in on the F1 festivities? If so, are you a local or visiting? And if you’re visiting, is this your first experience? Clearly, I love to ask questions, which means I love to hear your thoughts and comments!!

Have a wonderful Friday, and amazing weekend. Stay classy and race on!

Shopping casual

SONY DSC

Yesterday was a busy day for me (hence the reason why I didn’t get the chance to post anything. Please forgive me!). I was running around the shopping mall, preparing for a photo shoot I’ll be styling this coming Sunday (Yes, I style! Stay tuned, pics and stories to come!), which meant I needed a versatile enough outfit to run in and out of stores, all the while holding tons of shopping bags.

Sneakers, skinnies, and a loose top. Pretty much my go-to outfit when in times like these. Stylish-comfy can still be done while sporting some Converse ;) I’ve featured these jeans and sweater on the blog before, but they have yet to be together, until now! I love the faded blue on these jeans paired up against a bright color, in this case, orange. Along with the white sneakers, a casual, yet far from boring, ensemble!

I’m excited to show you guys pictures from the shoot, so make sure to check in! Until then, realists, stay classy :)

All about being bold!!

Hello realists!! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! :)

This week, I thought I would start it off with a spring/summer ’13 trend that I absolutely love…bold prints!

There’s a perfect print for everyone out there. Whether it be floral, polka dots, or even fruits, I guarantee you will find a print that works for your body, skin-tone, etc. I for one love pretty much any type of print. If it’s bold and screams “Look at me!!” you can assure that I’ll be trying it on!

Not comfortable with wearing a print?? What about carrying one? Or walking on one? Bags, clutches, hats, shoes, they all can be found with some kind of bold print that can sometimes stand out more than your striped top. That one perfect item will add so much character to an ensemble, but always make sure to not go overboard. You don’t want to end up looking like you got dressed in the dark :P But please, do feel adventurous and mix some prints together! There are definitely some patterns that you would believe were made to be worn together, you just have to try it out ;)

Just below, I’ve posted some items that I found to be quite eye-catching! Hope you enjoy my picks!

Are any of you fans of prints?? Maybe sporting some right now? ;) If you are a lover of them, what type of prints usually catch your eye first?? I always love to hear your thoughts! Stay classy, realists!

An outfit fit for a winter Saturday

Yes, I realize that it’s Tuesday and not Saturday, but I thought that the cardigan I wore in these photos fit perfectly with my stripe post from yesterday. Additionally, I wanted to show you an outfit I would put together for a Saturday with the fam.

As I mentioned in yesterdays post, I fancy me some nautical wear, and I feel this cardigan is a pleasing way of showing that, without being too literal. The stripes give the outfit a little punch against the overall simple outfit. In lieu of wearing a simple pair of blue jeans, I opted for these greyish-blue pair which makes the navy on the cardigan stand out more, rather than just blending in. Originally, I was wearing a black tee, but felt something was off. Asked the hubby to throw me my white v-neck, and voila! An outfit was made! Comfortable and easy. Now, looking at these pictures, you may be thinking “Heels? With kids?? Really??” Ah, my friends, you see, unlike stiletto’s, wedges not only give you the height that you are looking for, but also the balance and comfort. Moreover, they’re much easier to walk with in the snow than a tall, sexy, stiletto. Those will have to just wait for warmer weather ;) Until then, enjoy the pictures and be sure to check in tomorrow!

Bye for now!
