Week of Style; Plaid Shirt – Day 4

Here we are, day 4 of our ‘Week of Style; Plaid Shirt’.

For today’s look, I pulled out these high-waisted, flared jeans, that have been sitting in my closet for, wow, a while now. I was going through all my clothes, trying on items left and right, figuring out whether I wanted to keep or donate. These pants were one of the “unsure” items, but after trying them on, I remembered why I bought them in the first place. Bought many years back, and they still look good today. As much as I fall in love with items that are in style at the moment, I also wear whatever I want. I will always have a soft spot for flared jeans, especially ones like these that are high-waisted AND flared.

While trying on my jeans, from the corner of my eye, I noticed my plaid shirt lying there. Instantly, I knew that they had to be worn together. I also love pairing wedges with flares, so I did just that.

The weather was not really working on our end. Raindrops were slowly starting to fall down from the cloud-filled sky, and i had little girls in the background asking me when we were going to be done. I’ll be the first to tell you these are not the greatest pictures, but you get the point :P

As for tomorrow, I will not be posting anything because I’ll be busy with some stuff at my new job. Yes, I recently got hired at Top Shop and have to go in early tomorrow to fill out papers and such. I’m super excited to be working there because I LOVE Top Shop!  Which means, today’s the final day of our ‘Week of Style; Plaid Shirt’. I hope you’re all inspired with my previous outfits here, here, and here, and of course todays, and are making your ways to malls around to pick up your own version of a plaid shirt. You won’t regret it ;)

We shall meet again on Monday! Have a great weekend and stay classy!

Not Your Typical Denim Shorts

When it comes to heat, I LOVE a great pair of shorts. Gym shorts, suit shorts, denim shorts, I absolutely am infatuated (I know that’s a strong word, but it’s true!) with shorts! So when I came across this pair, with the stand-out of the splatted colors, I knew I had to own them! It also helps that I found them on special ;)

When I think of denim shorts, first instinct; blue. Then, I guess you would say white. After that, colored, but these are on a whole other level. I adore the fact that the colors are not super bright, but you do still have those hints of yellow and pink thrown in there.

Now, at first thought, I was heading for a white tank, and then stopped myself mid-track when I then caught, at the corner of my eye, my striped, neon yellow tank I first wore here. I mean, why not?? Adds more character to an outfit (and love mixing prints). And to not over-do it, I threw on my black blazer and some black ankle-strap heels.

It’s Thursday!! And you know what that means? Ladies night at so many restaurants!!! Oh, and the weekend’s a day away ;) Stay Classy, Realists!

The Remaining of NY Summed Up

Back in good ol’ Montreal…where the weather right now is a little rainy, but looks like it’ll get better by the weekend! Lucky for us, the day we left New York, the weather there was also gloomy and raining, which was fine since our previous days were quite sunny and nice.

There are only so many pictures, but let me tell you, we did have a great time! I haven’t walked so much in quite a while, so it felt nice to just be able to do that (even though our legs were KILLING by the next day :P). As I mentioned in my last post what we were planning on doing, we spent a good amount of our Saturday strolling through the MET. The exhibit I wanted to see most was the Punk: From Chaos to Couture. What an exhibit! The fashions that were displayed were phenomenal and it was so exciting to see all these different designers’ outfits. Such art! If you’re in the area, or are heading there soon, go check it out! It’s really something, along with the many other exhibits going on there, that shouldn’t be missed!

Now that my vacation fun is over (Vegas & New York), expect daily posts coming your way! I’m hoping to incorporate some other types of posts (i.e. recipes, fitness, diy, etc) so if any of you have any suggestions on what you would like to read, throw them my way! Like I always mention, I love to hear your thoughts! Until next time, stay classy realists ;)

Sin City; Day 1, strolling the strip

Hello realists!! Vegas is treating me great so far! The food is wonderful, the weather is perfect, and I’m up on roulette!!! ;) Oh, how I love this wonderful city!!

Yesterday, we were waiting for the 4th member of our crew to fly in at night, so we took it easy by just strolling the strip and making our way to Bacchanal, the buffet at Caesars Palace. A little pricier than your typical buffet, but the food is far from typical! Freshly shucked oysters, jumbo cocktail shrimp, sushi (and good sushi, not the usual “don’t eat that” sushi you’ll find at buffets), and a dessert table that will literally make you gain a few pounds just by looking at it!

After needing to all be rolled out of there, we made a quick stop at Fashion Show Mall. I was able to snag a beautiful pair of Brian Atwood heels from Neiman Marcus for half price! I’ve mentioned it before, and I’ll say it again, I love sales!! :) (I was also very happy that I was able to win back most of my shoe money on roulette at night!) After being high from this wonderful purchase, we made our way back to our hotel for some pool time.

Now, amongst all this pleasant talk, I have some bad news. Somewhere, somehow, along our walk, the lens’ on my camera broke…how, I have no clue! One minute I’m taking pictures, the next, the strangest noise was coming out of it! We passed by a camera shop along the trip back, and the guy there told me that my lens was broken. And just like good ol’ Vegas hospitality, he tried very hard to sell me a new one…no thank you, I just spent my money on some sexy heels. Shitty, yes, so now you’ll have to view my trip through my trusty IPhone. Not a dslr, but can definitely take some good pictures under the right circumstances ;)

Besides the camera incident, everything is great! Here are a few pics of my strolling outfit, accompanied by some group/scenery shots. Enjoy, and stay classy!!

A Stylist’s Style

Happy Monday! As I mentioned in a previous post, yesterday I had the opportunity to take part in a photo shoot for a couple of friends’ album launch. Like I explained in my “About Me” section, I’m a fashion designer turned stylist. I do still enjoy making clothing at home for myself, children, and close family and friends, but there’s something about being able to dress someone in clothing they wouldn’t normally choose for themselves! I love making people think outside of the box;) I had so much fun on set yesterday, and can’t wait for the next one!

Now, I also brought up about how I would be posting pictures for all of you to see, but as per the musical artists’ requests, I will be post-poning any pictures on set until they have publicized their own first. So, for now, I give you the outfit I wore that day!

A simple, yet still fun, outfit that is not restraining when needing to make sure the boys looked perfect! Yes, it’s those pants again…and the blazer…I know, it looks like I literally only own 1 pair of pants, but these are so comfy and perfect, that I can’t not always find an excuse to pull them out! I swear, I have a vast selection of jeans, I just really like these ;) As for the blazer, same goes with that! I know you all have those favorite items you can’t stop yourself from wearing :P

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, realists. Tomorrow, I will be posting about this beautiful dress I had the pleasure of wearing to my grand-parent’s 50th anniversary, so make sure to check in! And stay classy!

Downtown strolling

This Sunday, with the weather getting nicer, the fam and I decided to have lunch downtown, followed by a little stroll. During the winter, we hardly ever go downtown, well, during the winter, we hardly ever go anywhere! It’s hibernation time ;) So, it was quite enjoyable the time spent after so long of not being a part of downtown Montreal.

When the sun shone, it was considerably warm, but there were some bursts of wind that called for a little bit of bundling. Although, bundling doesn’t mean that I can’t be bright! Out came the pink pants! Kept it simple with a black v-neck and blazer, and paired with these awesome wedged sneakers (love these guys!) Perfect! :)

How was your weekend spent? Are you enjoying the outdoors more now that the weather is warming up? I know I am!

Stay classy, realists ;)

A 2-year old’s birthday!

This weekend was quite hectic for the hubby and I. On both Saturday and Sunday, we were busy preparing the house for the celebration of our 2-year old daughter’s birthday. Why 2 days? Well, on Saturday we celebrate the day with our close friends, and on Sunday, the family comes over. The reasoning behind holding two separate parties is that unfortunately, our house can’t hold 40 people at one time. Also, I think my super Greek mother and grand-mother would not be pleased to have to share their grand-daughters with a crowd of friends.

Today, I give you outfit number 1. Easy, cute, and versatile enough to run around the house, making sure everyone is continuously eating (the Greek in me), along with checking up on the kids and their shenanigans. Make sure to check in tomorrow to see outfit number 2!

Stay classy, realists! ;)
