Wedding Reception Attire

SONY DSC

Yesterday I showed you what I wore to my friend’s wedding ceremony here, and today, the reception.

You can’t go wrong with a maxi dress. Unless, of course, you’re wearing a white maxi dress. Well, then again, please don’t ever wear white to a wedding. Or cream, or very light peach. I always say steer clear of anything that can even remotely be considered a bridal dress :P

Let’s also take a moment to step back and see yet another statement necklace featured around my neck. I wasn’t lying when I said I was going to pick up my necklace game. I fell in love with this piece at a BCBG sale, and have never regretted it. Unfortunately, the necklace broke on me at one point, but luckily for my handy crazy glue skills, it looks like nothing has ever happened.

Have a great day, and stay classy!

Wedding Ceremony Attire

SONY DSC

Good morning/evening, Realists!! We meet again! I hope you all had as lovely a weekend as I did and are ready to commence a new week.

This past Saturday, a good friend of mine got married to her best friend, and I couldn’t be happier for the lovely couple. It was a memorable day that started out by watching the two lovebirds become officially husband and wife. Weddings always get me all choked up.

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you’ve probably noticed that I hardly ever wear necklaces. This little metal collar necklace has been sitting in my drawer of jewelry for close to two months now. Every time I would try to pair it with an outfit, I always felt like it just wasn’t looking the way I thought it would. Once again, I tried it on, and I LOVED it! I had to have been crazy the other times I’ve tried it and thought it just was never going to work. I think it’s time for me to pick up my necklace game and continue to search for a few new standout pieces. Realists, how do you feel about your necklace collection? More simple, or more statement? Maybe just not at all? Comment below, I love to know how you feel about this jewelry piece.

Now it’s back to the grind, everyone! Enjoy your Monday and stay classy.

Skinnies & Stripes

SONY DSC

My number one go-to outfit that can really work at almost any occasion has to be skinnies and a loose top. Going out to lunch, supper, friend’s house, movies, shopping, the list goes on and on! As long as your pants fit and you’ve got no muffin-top going on, this ensemble is crazy comfy!

Here, I paired one of my all-time favorite skinnies along with a striped casual-dress shirt. Simple together, but add in some killer heels and a chunky gold bracelet, and you’ve got a sleek and cool outfit without even trying. Pair this outfit with some Converse and you’ve got yourself a comfy-chic outfit to stroll the markets in. I’m telling you, skinnies and a loose top = endless possibilities!

What’s your go-to outfit that never fails you? I’d love to hear about them! Have a great day, Realists, and stay classy!

A Week of Style; Satin Cargo Trousers – Day 3

DSC01127

As my uncle put it, today’s way of styling our satin cargo trousers would be a “night on the town” look. You’ve got the leopard print heels, the red clutch, a silk blue top, and some sparkly sunglasses.

I actually am quite fond of this look. It’s feminine with that touch of edge from the trousers. This is something I would wear out to a nice supper or drinks with the ladies.

I have a confession. I’ve had this top for yeeeaaarrrrssss, and I think I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve worn it… Horrible!! I’m not a huge fan of turtle-necks (I’m quite claustrophobic so I’m usually turned off by them), but I think because this is silk, it deterred me away from that closed up feeling. After seeing how it looked paired with these pants, I’m going to be looking for more bottoms I could pair it with. Make sure I get my money’s worth :P Are you guys fans of turtle-necks? Do tell!

Once again, we’ve made it the middle of the week. How time flies! Have a wonderful hump-day and stay classy!

Gladiator Heels

SONY DSC

Yesterday I wrote about my navy blue dress I wore out in the morning here, and today, my lunch outfit from the same day!

The hubby invited me out for lunch that day, so I took advantage of it and made sure to pull out some heels. I’ve been meaning to wear these for a while now, since I’ve yet to wear them this summer, and worked my outfit around them. I felt this skater skirt worked great with it because the flirty-ness of the skirt toned down the edgy-ness of the shoes. Had I worn these with something tighter, it would give off a whole different look. A more “night-time” look ;)

You’ve seen this skirt previously here styled for a late winter/early spring day, and here is a variation of how you can style it for summer!

Do you own any gladiator sandals? Better yet, how do you feel about this trend? I love to know!! Have a wonderful day and stay classy!

Grey & Red

SONY DSC

Good morning/afternoon/evening, Realists!! Hope you all had a lovely weekend and are [somewhat] happy to be starting a new week!

This past Friday, after just finishing my 3-day juice cleanse, a friend had asked me to join her for lunch, which I immediately answered “Yes!” to! We decided on going to a Greek restaurant named Milos that serves an amazing lunch menu. I was so happy to be eating solids again, but maybe a little too happy. Word of advice?? Do not stuff food down your throat too quickly after not eating for 3 days…I was on the verge of throwing everything I ate up…luckily I didn’t!

Now, about the outfit. I find red and black a hit-and-miss color combo. Some people love it, some people hate it. I’m cool with the pair, depending on what the items are. For myself, I actually find that grey and black are a nicer contrast. This shade and color combo has to be one of my favorites of the sort. There are certain colors I am fond of together (i.e. purple & yellow), or shades (i.e. white & black), but when it comes to one of each, I adore the red and grey marriage. Reason is that grey isn’t as harsh as black, so I find that the colors have a more uniformed relationship.

Just a quick note about these heels. I just recently ordered them online off of the huge Zara sale going on (along with many other pieces! Like this top here), and am absolutely infatuated with them. I can literally pair these shoes with anything and everything in my closet, and they’re so comfy!! Realists, I’ll try not to, but be prepared to see them pretty often ;)

I’m off! Have a lovely Monday, and stay classy!

P.s. Is it just me, but I find I have this Janis Joplin look going on with the natural hair and round sunnies, don’t you find? Unintentional, I just noticed it after looking at the pictures!

Floral on Floral

SONY DSC

Hello, Realists, it’s Monday again! I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

This past Saturday, my night-time was filled by helping a very good friend of mine celebrate the purchase of her new salon. After years of making sure that this huge investment was going to be the perfect one for her, she finally set her heart (and money :P) on a salon called Bronzage Bishop.

So, a little note to her; Lisa, I’m so happy and proud of you! You’ve come so far, and I’m happy that I’ve been able to join you on this journey since our good ol’ Pierre La-Porte days! What is this now, 14, 15 years? And still going strong!! Love you my Lili, and congratulations!!! XxX

Now, back to going out Saturday and celebrating. Going out summer nights makes me love this weather even more! I finally get to wear my beloved shorts and high-ass heels! Pairing this floral top with these white shorts makes me feel like I’m wearing summer, and instead of going with a nude shoe (which is what I was originally planning) I decided to go with these floral platforms. These 2 pieces are probably the only floral pieces I have in my closet, and now I’ve paired them together! I also decided to go with this oversized envelope clutch. Because the print of the clutch is dark, it’s a great contrast piece against the top.

Realists, I hope you all have a lovely Monday, and stay classy!

P.s. After the last time I took pictures indoors here, my photographer uncle then explained to me how to take pictures indoors without all the shadowing…I’m sorry, Uncle Billy, but I forgot and didn’t have the time to look up what you said again. So, to my uncle and readers, I apologize in advance for any shadowing ;)

Draw-string Shorts

SONY DSC

Realists, I’m finally feeling a little more like myself and my coughing attacks are now only coming seldom at night (not that that’s a great thing, but at least I’m not scaring people off during the day). The weather is also finally continuing to feel more and more like summer, which is an added bonus to my feeling better!

As I’ve mentioned previously here, I do love my shorts, and these draw-string shorts are one of my favorites. The material is so soft and comfy, and I love the looseness of them. A great pair of shorts like this looks awesome paired with a tighter, tucked in top, or a looser top as I’m wearing here. We all know how versatility is key, and these shorts fit right in that category!

Guess what? It’s Friday!!! Hope you all have a lovely day and an awesome weekend!! Be safe and stay classy!

Sleeveless Shirt-dress

Ladies and Gents, I’m still sick and sad :( (as well as still sore from the race) And as you can assume, I’m in no mood to leave the house, which then equals to not wanting to take any pictures at the moment. Luckily, I do have a supper outfit from this past Saturday that I can post!

Let me first start by apologizing for the some-what dark pictures. These photos were taken after supper around 8-9pm. Besides that, I had just picked up this style of shirt-dress from Winners the day before while shopping for some running clothes. I’ve been wanting to look for a dress this style for a while now, but haven’t really done much shopping lately, so I was happy when I came across this one.

I love the fit of it (can’t tell how much I ate during supper :P) and it’s also a very nice, soft cotton. This dress is also great because, as I love, it can easily be transformed from day to night. Sandals to heels, cardigan to blazer, such an easy piece that can be worn in so many varieties.

I just also want to quickly mention something about these heels. I’ve had them for quite a few years now (actually, my first pair of Stuart Weitzman’s!) and they are one of the comfiest heels I own! Best part about them? They’re made of cork!! A nice contrast to a simple, nude heel :)

On another note, I’m thinking about possibly starting some VLOG’s. What do you guys think? Anything you’d like to see me post about? Always open to suggestions!! Now, Realists, I must go rest my poor little body. Happy hump day, and stay classy!

Movie Night

SONY DSC

Last night, the hubby and I had the pleasure of going out to watch a movie. We decided on watching The Great Gatsby, and let me tell you, what a FANTASTIC movie!! From the choice of songs to the style of filming, and of course, one of my favorite periods of time, The Roaring Twenties!!! Also, who doesn’t love a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio? One of my favorite actors out there. But all in all, an amazing film that I would suggest to anyone, and one that has made its way onto my favorite movie list!

Besides the awesome feature, I had to dress up to go there (Oh, how wonderful it would be if we could just walk around naked all the time!). We haven’t had a date in a while, so I chose to dress up, without actually dressing up.

A simple outfit turned interesting with just a choice of heels and some added jewellery. I’ve been dying to have an excuse to wear these heels again (the last time I wore them was here), so this was the perfect chance! A nice pair of comfy trousers, a simple, bright colored pullover, spiced up with some sexy heels and fancy bracelets! My kind of outfit ;)

Hope you all had a lovely hump-day yesterday! The weekend’s just around the corner. Stay classy!
