My Little Pony

SONY DSC

As I showed on a sneak peek in my previous post here, I finally got my hair did. It’s my first time experiencing with pastel colors, so I must admit that I wasn’t too fond of it at the beginning. I’m so used to bright colors that the pastel chalkness going on in my hair was throwing me off. I’m happy to say about 2 weeks and many compliments later, I am absolutely in love with it!!! It’s a very different look from what I’m used to, and again as I mentioned previously, it’s nice to get out of your box at times and try new things :)

Have you recently stepped out of your box and tried something new? Comment below, you know I love to read what all you Realists have to say! Have an awesome day and stay classy!

Week of Style; Plaid Shirt – Day 2

This past Saturday, we spent a good chunk of our day over at La Ronde, and I spent it in my new plaid shirt. So here, for all you Realists, is how I would style this particular shirt for a day out at an amusement park.

The weather was slightly chilly, but nothing us Montrealers can’t handle (unless you’re still stuck in summer mode and walking around with shorts and flip flops, which trust me, has been done by many), so instead of pairing something over my shirt, I went with a longer shirt under my plaid one. The perks of doing this? If you get too hot, you can always remove your button-down and tie it around your waist a-la 90’s style, which, clearly, is very popular at the moment.

I was in a very black-and-white color combo that day, hence the reason why, well, I have no color. The pants are riding pants from American Apparel, and if you haven’t tried them on, you won’t understand, but if you have, then you will understand how unbelievably tight they are! I mean, I guess it’s a good thing because they keep anything from hanging out, but I did have to visit the washroom more than usual (they are extremely high-waisted as well)! But, all that aside, I do fancy the look, and was quite comfortable. Having to get in and out of all those kiddie rides, I have to make sure what I’m wearing is flexible ;)

Casual and comfy, perfect for a day out shopping, or like myself, enjoying the rides at an amusement park. Don’t forget to check in tomorrow to see day 3 of our ‘Week of Style; Plaid Shirt’. Stay classy!

Camo & Stripes

SONY DSC

Ok, I’m convinced mother nature is bi-polar…Monday, I’m wearing shorts and a tank, and yesterday, back to jeans and a cardigan. So far, summer hasn’t been consistent around here, so I’m just crossing my fingers that the nicer weather that’s coming today, will be staying with us!

Because of the rain outside, I opted for taking pictures indoors. As for the outfit, I was in a camo kind of mood, and to spice it up a little, I paired these jeans with a striped cardigan. I also thought I’d go for something a little different by wearing this beanie I received as a gift quite a while ago. Honestly (and I’d like to apologize to my sister for this), I don’t think I’ve ever really worn this hat before…but I’m happy I finally decided to break it out!! It adds a little subtle interest to an overall casual outfit.

Have a lovely rest of your day, Realists, and join me in crossing our fingers for warmer weather! Stay classy!

Black & Blue

SONY DSCSONY DSC

As I’ve mentioned in a previous post here, Monday’s & Tuesday’s I’m usually at my parents house for supper. It’s great because I get to see my family (Tuesday’s are usually when all my siblings round up), the girls get to see their grandparents, aunts and uncle, and I get to lay back a little and watch everyone want to take care of the them ;) (it’s like a mini-vacation every time!)

I may be only going to my parent’s house, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t throw on a pair of heels to compliment my outfit. A simple black tank and some blue shorts. An ensemble that I could’ve easily just ran out with in a pair of flats, but I decided that I was in the mood for some heels.

You’ve seen these heels paired here with some skinnies and a 3/4 top, and now, shorts and a tank! Oh how I love versatility!

Enjoy your day, realists, and stay classy!

Muscle Tank; The finale!

SONY DSC

Today is the finale of our “DIY muscle tank” outfit combos. We had casual/chic, then I gave you sporty, yesterday was full of clean and sharp details, and today, I give to you something that is pretty much expected of a rocker tee…an everyday, grungish look! Something I would definitely wear to a concert, or just strolling around doing some shopping.

A pair of jean shorts, some black high-knee socks, a striped cardigan, all topped off with the ultimate cherry; a classic pair of black Chucks. Comfy, cute, and can really be worn all day, everyday. This whole outfit makes me feel like a teenager again ;)

And there you have it! The conclusion to this weeks DIY! One shirt, 4 ways. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Did anyone jump on board with me during this? If so, I would love to hear about how you styled, or would style your own muscle tee! While on this note, I would also love to bring you some more DIY’s in the future! Realists, any suggestions?? I’m very interested to know what you would like to see next! Until the next post, as always, muscle tee or not, stay classy ;)

Breakfast date!

SONY DSC

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of enjoying a nice breakfast with a lovely friend of mine. I am a HUGE breakfast fan, and the hubby could really care less for it. So whenever I get the chance to indulge in this wonderful morning meal, without having to make it myself, I take it!

As I was excited in the morning for my yummy breakfast plate (yes, I get quite excited when it comes to food!), the weather was bringing that excitement down. It felt as if it was time for “third winter”! The winds are killer! But did that stop me from looking comfy-chic? Not at all!

I love this top from H&M. Great price (only $15!) and super comfy! I bought 3 different colors and don’t regret them at all! I mean, with a price like that, how could you?? The shoes. Oh, these shoes. How I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. I snagged these babies at a Neiman Marcus Last Call for a great price!! Last pair, and luckily for me, my exact size! No stretching or insoles needed ;)

I hope that wherever you’re reading this from, it’s much warmer for you than it is for me. If you’re stuck with the same deal, fear not! The weather network says mother nature will be bringing us some heat!…hopefully they get it right this time ;) Stay classy, realists!

Downtown strolling

SONY DSC

This Sunday, with the weather getting nicer, the fam and I decided to have lunch downtown, followed by a little stroll. During the winter, we hardly ever go downtown, well, during the winter, we hardly ever go anywhere! It’s hibernation time ;) So, it was quite enjoyable the time spent after so long of not being a part of downtown Montreal.

When the sun shone, it was considerably warm, but there were some bursts of wind that called for a little bit of bundling. Although, bundling doesn’t mean that I can’t be bright! Out came the pink pants! Kept it simple with a black v-neck and blazer, and paired with these awesome wedged sneakers (love these guys!) Perfect! :)

How was your weekend spent? Are you enjoying the outdoors more now that the weather is warming up? I know I am!

Stay classy, realists ;)

It’s green day!!

Another party at the girls’ daycare, another subject to post about! Last time, it was about hats. This time, the color green!

Green day! A way to help celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! As I was getting ready to choose an outfit for this particular setting, I then realized “I don’t think I own anything green!!!” Then lo and behold!! I found this shirt-dress that I literally haven’t worn since before getting pregnant with my first daughter. Now, that was almost 5 years ago. Nice to know that I can fit back into it ;)

The ballet flats that I’m sporting here are one of my absolute favs. I love that the tip is flat like a ballet shoe. Makes me feel like a ballerina, although, I know nothing about being one ;)

Do you own anything green? Or even fancy the color? Would love to hear about it.

As always, stay classy, realists ;)

Maple on a stick… here we come!!!

Today, I’ll be attending a field trip with the girls and their daycare to a Cabane-à-sucre. Translated literally to sugar-shack. A whole daycare full of kids and maple syrup… this is going to be interesting to say the least… Even then, I still love to attend these outings because 1; I get to keep an eye on my girls, and 2; it’s memories I am fortunate enough to be there for.

Although I could care less for dipping popsicle sticks into snow to pick up maple, or even to indulge in the massive amounts of maple injected food, as a mom, most of what you do is to make your kids happy :)

Now, just because I’ll be surrounded by tons of kids, snow, and lots of, shall I repeat it again, MAPLE!! It doesn’t mean I can’t put together a comfy, versatile outfit, and still look cute! Bring on the festivities!! And now, dear realists, for the first time on the blog, let me introduce to you my two, beautiful baby girls!

Stay classy, realists! ;)

Cats, dolls, and nightwalks

Hey there!! As mentioned in “Wishing for warm weather”, the hubby is away for work so I unfortunately have no one here to help snap some shots of outfits (boo). Luckily, I have some pictures saved from a night out a few weeks ago. This outfit is quite appropriate because my eyes were so irritating that night that I had to omit wearing contacts and don a pair of frames, and yesterday, the post was conveniently about just that, glasses!

I found the cat-eye frame to add character to the lace, baby-doll dress. The overall ensemble was quite “sweet” looking, which is why I decided to top it all off with my most comfortable, and easiest to walk in, nude nightwalks. Those shoes are by far one of the most coveted items I own. Contrary to what they look like, I’ve never walked with such ease in a pair of 6″ heels. If you own a pair, you understand exactly what I’m talking about. If you don’t, you need to go out and try them to find out exactly what I’m talking about! Along with that, who doesn’t love a pair of black opaque, over-the-knee stockings? ;)

Wherever you are in the world, have a great Friday/Saturday! ;)
