Realists, the time has come. Snow has made it’s way down to our Montreal grounds for the first time this year. Out come the winter coats, boots and accessories for the next few months. Also, unfortunately, outdoor pictures will be on pause until it is bearable enough for me to stand outside and not have to risk catching anything I don’t want to catch.
With the amount of amazingly designed winter coats out on the market, it’s easy to stay warm and still continue to be stylish at the same time. Although, I will add, that depending on your city, sometimes cold will outweigh your wanting to stay on trend and you’ll do whatever it takes to keep you warm, as I do sometimes feel over here in good ol’ Montreal.
Realists around the world, has your winter made an appearance yet? Do you find it hard to stay warm and stylish? Just below I’ve posted up several coats that fall into those 2 categories. Bundle up, and stay classy!

The cold is definitely here, so enter the oversize, chunky sweaters. A fall/winter staple for anyone who has to endure the ever-so-cold temperatures of 10 degrees and lower.
Chunky knits are definitely something I need (or want, however you look at it) that I need to stock up on this fall/winter. They’re a great investment, and look great paired with almost anything in your wardrobe. Skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, skirts, dresses, the list goes on and on. I also love that because of the wide array of textures and fabrics chunky sweaters come in, they can be dressed up or down depending on your mood or occasion.
Thoughts on chunky knits? Do you own a few, or are shopping for a few? Here are several styles that fit the perfect chunky sweater category.
Stay classy, Realists!

I’ve mentioned it in a previous post, and I’ll say it again. One of my favorite fall trends this year has to be oversized coats. Although I’ve yet to purchase one, I can’t get over how much I love this silhouette. I can see a coat of this style paired with a dress for a night out, some skinny jeans for a casual day look, and even a pair of loose fitting trousers for a more androgynous look.
Sure, we’ve all seen these gorgeous coats walk down the runways from multiple high-end designers, but it doesn’t mean you have to spend a ton to look the part. Here you’ve got a gorgeous, yet clearly a little pricey, Stella McCartney oversized tweed blazer for $1,945. OR, you can pick up a similar coat, Cooper and Strollbrand Oversized Biker Coat on special for $312.08, and there are definitely even more affordable ones out there.
How do you feel about this fall trend? Comment below and let me know! I’ve put together a few pieces for your viewing pleasure :)

Fall is here and taking over any little heat we thought we had left. Time to put away our opened-toe shoes and pull out our socks again because we gotta keep our little toes warm.
There’s so many ways to keep our feet warm and stylish when it comes to fall fashion. You’ve got knee boots, over-the-knee boots, sneakers, combat boots, etc., but one trend being seen alongside all that’s been mentioned is the ankle boot. This type of footwear keeps your feet warm, all the while still staying on current fashion with showing a little ankle.
I myself have many pairs of shoes, but I must say, most of them are pretty much only summer-friendly. I’m currently shopping around for a great fall boot within my budget. One comfortable enough for everyday, and of course, one with a high heel ;)
Realists, have you invested in any ankle booties this fall? Or are you like myself and still shopping around? Below, I’ve posted up a few styles, with and without heels, to help give you some inspiration. Now, start shopping!!
Have a great Monday and stay classy.
It’s no secret that the 90’s has made a comeback in fashion the past few months, and following months as well. With crop tops being seen everywhere, grungy styles, flatforms/platforms, shirts/sweaters/anything that has sleeves wrapped around our waists, and I can go on and on mentioning the many influences being seen on the streets, in magazines, and websites galore.
The one 90’s trend I’m posting about today is plaid. A print that was first introduced at the end of the 16th century, then later popularized in the 60’s, huge in the 90’s, and now back in the…well, 2013.
You can find plaid shirts, pants, bags, scarves, etc. Looking for a specific item in plaid? I guarantee you can find it somewhere, somehow. Here I put together a few different items that sport the particular pattern, and pieces that I fancy. I actually purchased my first (that’s a lie. I owned a couple of plaid shirts way back when while sitting on my bed listening to none other than Nirvana…ok, and BSB….that’s right, BSB over Nsync anyday!), plaid shirt since forever ago and will happily be featuring it tomorrow! For today, hope you enjoy the chosen items seen below!
Are you a fan? Not so much? Own an item, or two, or three, of the mentioned pattern? Do tell! Have a wonderful day, and stay classy!
P.s. How awesome is that plaid bra?? Worn under a muscle tee, with a little peek of the print = hot! And I need those jeans in my life!
Yesterday the weather was not very pleasing. The day before we had gorgeous sun and 29+ degree weather. Yesterday it was raining like mad, and very, very sticky.
The ensemble I’ve put together for your viewing pleasure is in no way even close to the one I was sporting yesterday. Unfortunately for only myself, what I was wearing was not storm appropriate, which then resulted in me stepping into an ankle deep puddle coming out with soaking, wet feet. Sexy.
No, here I have for you what would’ve been appropriate for a weather like yesterday. Since it was raining, but also still very hot and sticky, you would need something that will not only keep you dry, but also comfortable. Rain boots and a skater skirt is always a cute, and weather appropriate outfit to fall on. Paired with a simple, white tee and a rain jacket, you’ve got something to shield yourself from mother nature, all the while still looking like you tried. Not raining but still got your jacket?? You can easily take part in one of the hottest trends right now and tie it around your waist!
What’s your idea of a perfect rain-to-sun outfit? Something like the one I posted, or is it completely different? I’d love to know so comment below ;)
It’s Friday, Realists! Have a great rest of the day and a fabulous weekend. Stay classy!
As fall is slowly creeping it’s way upon us, we now [unfortunately] have to start looking into transforming our wardrobe from summer (goodbye slinky tops & comfy shorts) and bring on some cooler fall clothing (hello tailored pants & over-sized sweaters). Among many of the upcoming trends we have to look forward to, the one I’m most excited about is the highly coveted moto jacket. Actually, I’m quite excited about a great motorcycle jacket every spring/fall because they never really go out of style! A great investment piece, and you know that it’s something you’ll hold onto for a while and not end up looking at it a couple of seasons down the road and think “I wore that??”.
Over-sized, tailored, cropped, leather, denim, cotton, the possibilities go on and on! It’s now just about finding the right one (or two, or three…) for you! I [surprisingly] don’t own any moto jackets at the moment, but I’m definitely on the hunt for one, especially seeing as how Montreal this summer looks like it’s unfortunately coming to an end soon :( Below, I’ve put together a few different styles for you to browse through. I’m personally really loving the 3.1 Phillip Lim, which one’s your favorite?
Do you own any moto jackets? Or are you on the hunt for one now? Well, Realists, it’s Friday! Which means tomorrow’s the weekend, and if you’re free, you’ve got a good few hours to start looking for one ;) Have a great Friday, a lovely weekend, happy shopping, and stay classy!

Here we are! Day 5 of our first Week of Style! I have to admit, when I first tried on these trousers, I almost wasn’t sure about them and actually considered returning them. After putting together these 5 summertime outfits, I’m so happy I didn’t go through with it! As much as I can wait for colder weather, I can’t wait to style these pants for fall!
So let’s recap; Day 1 was with a graphic tee, day 2 was crop top, day 3 was night out, day 4 was edgy, and it all ended with a clean and simple daytime outfit! There are so many other pieces I could’ve thrown together with these pants, but I’m definitely liking the ones I posted up.
So, please, your thoughts! Did you enjoy following me day by day and seeing the many ways that we can style satin cargo trousers? Would you like to see more? Maybe there’s an item of clothing out there that you’re not 100% on how to put it together and would like to see my view. As I mentioned on our first day, I’ll be leaving for Toronto next Saturday for a week and was planning on putting together another one, so let me know what you guys thought!
I hope that I’ve been able to inspire you, even if only a teensie bit. At least I did my job ;) Have a wonderful Friday and an amazing weekend! Stay classy, Realists! Top: Jcrew, Pants: Zara, Shoes: Aldo, Sunglasses: Carrera
Looking for a new way to spice up your outfits this summer/fall? Something to replace a basic tee? Why not try out one of the hottest trends out there right now; graphic t-shirts. They’re literally popping up everywhere so don’t tell me you don’t know what I’m talking about ;)
We’ve got designers on end putting out their version of the perfect graphic tee. Comme Des Garcons, Maison Martin Margiela, and Burberry, to name a few, have all taken on this course of putting out some fine graphic prints. From shirts with writing, to animals, to just overall crazy prints, whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it. If not, don’t worry, there are plenty of either online shops or pop-up stores that you can print on your own graphics. I for one am all down for this trend. As much as I love a plain tee, ones with pictures or writing always have a way of making your outfit that much more interesting. I love that you can take something so simple like an animal print tee, and make it look perfect and not childish (Aimee from songofstyle does it perfect here!).
How do you feel about this trend? Have you already jumped on board, or are you still looking into it? I’m definitely planning on getting out there and looking for a few myself. Although, I should really just go through my own closet first because I know for a fact I’ve got a few awesome ones lying around. I’ll make sure to dig them up and do some posts on them! Until then, here are a few styles I’ve chosen that I think would fit perfectly in my closet.
Have a wonderful rest of your Friday, Realists, a beautiful weekend, and stay classy!
Not only am I still coughing up my insides, but to bring me down even more, it’s gloomy and raining outside!! I’m a little over this crazy weather. I’m not one to enjoy wearing pants past mid-June. *sigh*
On the note of rain and pants, having a great printed trouser in your closet is a must-have (especially for those chillier days like today!). After being seen all over the runways, surely enough, they then ended up in many a closet. From floral to paisley, and zig-zags to damask, the sky’s the limit when it comes to printed trousers.
Some may think, “I can’t give in. They’re too hard to pair”, but trust me, it looks harder than it actually is! You can go the easier route and pair your printed pants with a solid, neutral top. Or, you can go the step further and use a solid, colored top. OR, you can be as creative as you can and mix print on print. Oh, the possibilities!!
Realists, it’s Friday! Hooray for the weekend!! This Sunday I’ll be participating in my first Spartan Race, so cross your fingers for me!! I’ll have the whole story for you next week :) Have a great weekend and stay classy!
