Halloween ’13

I am one of those people who crave Halloween. It’s honestly my favorite time of year. From ghosts and ghouls, to giving out candy to all the trick-or-treaters that make their way to our candy station, it’s a “holiday” that can’t be missed. The only thing I can do without pretty much every Halloween, is the cold that constantly follows my Halloween escapades (which, for me, has been the past 2 days. No fun). I always think to myself “Why am I sick? This downright sucks” and I believe it’s finally dawned on me that it must be my running around on Hallows Eve, in the cold, and in this years case, rain, in nothing but ripped up clothing. *sigh* Will that stop me? Never! I love it too much.

On a happier, or scarier, however you look at it, note, here are the few pictures I promised from my last post here. As I mentioned, there aren’t as many as I had hoped for, but it does give you an idea of how Halloween goes down around here.

Halloween; love it or hate it? Let me know! Always a pleasure to read your thoughts.  Stay classy, Realists!

What I wish I was wearing…

Realists, I’m still alive and kickin’! And trust me, I haven’t forgotten about all you lovelies out there. I mentioned several posts ago that I started working at TopShop, and this past week, my schedule has been all over the place. I even had to cancel my much needed hair appointment I mentioned about here :(. Just trying to get everything in order and on schedule, but ’tis a new week and  I’ll be sure to bring posts daily!

As a result of no time, no pictures have been taken. So for now, I give to you an outfit I would love to be wearing right now. The Balmain leather pants I posted are perfection, and I’ve been in love with those Anine Bing booties since I first laid eyes on them. How do you feel about a fall outfit like so? Something you can see yourself in, or have you already put this together?

Monday is here and a new week has begun! Have a wonderful one, and stay classy!

What I wish I was wearing...

“Do you have the time?

Hello, Realists! I’m back from my long weekend. I’m so busy trying to get ready for our 9-day stay in Toronto, hence the reason why I missed yesterday. Hope you all had a lovely weekend and a great Monday back to reality!

Today I want to talk about one of my many obsessions. Something I rarely ever leave the house with; a watch. A watch to me is almost like underwear (almost! there are times you’ll see me without one, but underwear, I can never do the commando thing!). I’m not going to lie, there are moments where I get lazy in the “accessorizing” department, but I find as long as I have a watch on, it helps pull together an outfit without even needing to try.

The hubby surprised me with 2 more watches from Vegas (Thank you again!!), and I LOVE them!! 2 more pieces I can add to my ever-expanding collection of watches (which you can see below ;)).

How do you guys go about telling time?? Are you  an avid watch-wearer as myself, or would you rather get your time off your phone?? Do tell!

Realists, have a great Tuesday and stay classy!

Juice Cleanse; Final Review

Ladies & gents, I’ve made it! My DIY; 3-day juice cleanse is finally over and I can eat some real food! :P

So, what did I think about this whole cleanse?? Honestly, as I mentioned here, the first day was hard. I had headaches and felt weak and was tired all day. I just wanted to go to sleep that night so it could all be over. I was actually quite close to just saying “F this, I’m done. 1 day is enough”, but then I thought that it’s too easy to give up, and I was far from giving up!

I’m so happy I didn’t! The next morning I woke up quite refreshed and not feeling anywhere near as down as I felt the other day. I was actually quite ready to continue with this juicing thing! And the juices were becoming considerably tasty on my pallet ;) The whole 2nd day was fine, until I had to make supper for the girls…oh, that sweet, sweet smell of home-made tomato sauce for their spaghetti, as per request, was getting to me. But, I quickly turned my head away, drank my green juice, and all was good!! Until the hubby came home and said “Why? Why would you make this when I can’t eat it?” Sorry, my love :)

Day 3! Even better then the 2nd! Energetic, not longing for food (ok, that’s a lie. I’m always longing for food. I’ll be eating breakfast and thinking about what’s for lunch), and I actually felt like getting up and working out. Best part? I found the juices tasted even better (except for the beet one. Better, yes. Tasty? Mmm…I can do without :P)! It’s great because now I have some go-to juices I can make on the daily for snacks in-between meals!

All in all, I actually enjoyed it. I’m not saying I loved not eating, no no, but, it does the body good!! You’re getting so many nutrients from all these different juices that I find it really is a good thing to do a juice cleanse once in a while. I will be continuing to [try] and juice daily, along with clean eating (still working on that 6-pack!) and will definitely be doing another juice cleanse soon.

Thank you dear Realists for joining me on my first journey of juice cleansing! I hope that some of you will be interested and try it out yourselves, that’s if you haven’t already. Now if you’ll excuse me, I shall go indulge in a nice large slice of chocolate cake!…ok, that’s a lie…cheesecake…I hate chocolate ;)

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend! Stay Classy!

Officially a Spartan!

Hello, Realists!! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! And if you’re from Canada, I’m also hoping you had a great Canada Day yesterday!

This past Sunday, I participated in my first ever Spartan Race, and let me tell you, it’s definitely not my last!! What an experience it was! If you’re not sure exactly what it is, basically, it’s a dirty, dirty, and tiring, obstacle racing challenge. They have 3 different difficulties, and the one we did on Sunday was called the “Spartan Super” which is an 8+ mile, 20+ obstacle race. I believe ours ended up being close to 10 miles (15.5km) with, I think it was, 21 or some obstacles. My time; 4 hours and 26 mins!! :D

Going knee deep in mud (at times you were swimming in it), crawling under barbed-wire, and jumping over walls. Just a few of what we had to go through during this race. Let’s not forget the, I believe it was 100m, swimming we had to do. I think I nearly drowned! It was one of the last obstacles, so imagine you just finished running about 8 miles and now need to swim!! I literally had to doggy-paddle my way through. The lifeguard on his kayak was eyeing me the whole time, haha.

After all is said and done, I don’t regret any of it and honestly can’t wait until I run it again!! I feel like this race has now given me the motivation to run in any race I want, so thank you to the Spartan Race team!! I didn’t think I would ever mind being covered in mud, blood, cuts and bruises. :)

They have yet to post the professional pictures taken during the race, but here are a few Iphone pictures taken of me during the last couple of obstacles.

Have any of you Realists ever done a Spartan Race? Or know someone who has? Would you ever try? Tell me all about it!! Have a great day and stay classy!

Breaking Bad

breaking bad

Today I’ll be writing about something a little different. Now, while my passion is for fashion, I do enjoy a good t.v. series, and right now, the hubby and I are totally obsessed with Breaking Bad.

Here’s how we’ve been spending our nights since we started; have supper, play a little with the girls, get them ready for bed, read them a book…or 2…or 3…ok, finally in bed (never means they’re sleeping), and watch, watch, watch. Do we even converse anymore? Sure, about the show!! It’s just so addictive! We’ve watched many t.v. series, and I have to say, this is slowly becoming my favorite one so far. The action and suspense that you’re put through in literally every episode is ridiculous!

Right now, we’re half-way through season 2. The second part of season 5 (which is the series finale) starts August 1st, and I’ve got no doubt in my mind we’ll be done by then. It’s funny how the show is about meth, and I’m so addicted to the show as if I were on the drug myself! It’s a roller-coaster of a ride, and like I just mentioned, we’re only half-way through season 2! And from what I hear by everyone who watches it, and is up to date, it’s yet to fail them. It’s so amazing to see Bryan Cranston, who once played the overly eccentric, and not so there, dad on Malcolm in the Middle, now playing this dramatic, and almost scary at times, role of Walter White. A chemist diagnosed with lung cancer, cooking meth to make money for his family. Genius, I tell you, genius! And one of the many questions we ask ourself after almost every episode? “I wonder if they’re any chemists watching this and thinking they could/should do it too!” What do you think?? :P

Are any of you on the Breaking Bad bandwagon? If you are, I know you’re sitting there telling yourself “YES!! SO TRUE!!” And if you’re not, myself and everyone else who is, we’re all collectively saying “GET ON IT! NOW!” This is a show you’ll definitely not regret.

Aside from Breaking Bad, what other shows are you overly obsessed with?? I’d love to hear what you think we should watch next, and also your thoughts on this particular series!

The Remaining of NY Summed Up

Back in good ol’ Montreal…where the weather right now is a little rainy, but looks like it’ll get better by the weekend! Lucky for us, the day we left New York, the weather there was also gloomy and raining, which was fine since our previous days were quite sunny and nice.

There are only so many pictures, but let me tell you, we did have a great time! I haven’t walked so much in quite a while, so it felt nice to just be able to do that (even though our legs were KILLING by the next day :P). As I mentioned in my last post what we were planning on doing, we spent a good amount of our Saturday strolling through the MET. The exhibit I wanted to see most was the Punk: From Chaos to Couture. What an exhibit! The fashions that were displayed were phenomenal and it was so exciting to see all these different designers’ outfits. Such art! If you’re in the area, or are heading there soon, go check it out! It’s really something, along with the many other exhibits going on there, that shouldn’t be missed!

Now that my vacation fun is over (Vegas & New York), expect daily posts coming your way! I’m hoping to incorporate some other types of posts (i.e. recipes, fitness, diy, etc) so if any of you have any suggestions on what you would like to read, throw them my way! Like I always mention, I love to hear your thoughts! Until next time, stay classy realists ;)

My life saver during Vegas!

During yesterday’s post, I mentioned that I would be bringing you photos of all the goodies I bought on my Vegas trip, but I felt like I needed to let you guys know first about a new product I purchased that was basically my life saver during the trip.

Ladies, and even gentlemen, concealer! Under-eye concealer is probably the one type of make-up I must always apply even if without anything else. I’m Greek, and we’re known for those dark circles under the eyes. I’ve got two kids under 4, who one is currently night-time potty-training, which means I’m always up, and I’ve got deep under-eye lids. I honestly thought there was no concealer that would ever do the trick, until I walked into Sephora a couple of days before my trip, and the make-up artist introduced me to a concealer by Tarte Cosmetics. Amazing!!! I’ve heard of the company before, but I have never tried out any of their products, and now that I have, I’m definitely not stopping!

I’ve literally tried a ridiculous amount of concealers ever since I started wearing make-up, and it’s about time I find one that works properly! No matter how little sleep I got in Vegas, I always looked fresh and awake! :) And one of the best parts about it is that their products are all natural! No animal cruelty :)

What are your favorite concealers? Are any of you on the Tarte bandwagon as well? Love to hear from you!!

Stay classy, realists!

Accessories for the avid traveller!

I was reading a post off of thesartorialist.com, and came across  this great passport cover from Flight 001. I’ve been on the hunt for a great passport cover for a while now. Trying to find a piece that I fancy, as well as something that’s affordable. I’m heading to Vegas and New York in May, so I need to start looking a little quicker!

The pieces that can be found on this site are great! They’ve got it all from luggage to waterbottles. Adapters to sporks. Browsing through this site, I’ve already found a few items that I wouldn’t mind picking up for myself and my husband ;) I know I don’t fly as much as he does, but when the rare occasion comes along, I know I will have those few items that I can’t wait to pull out! On the plus side, they don’t need to be used just for flying. Road trips, sleepovers, bus rides, whatever it is!! These are items that can be used for more than one occasion!

Here are a few pictures of pieces I found cool and worth it!!

Even when flying, remember readers, stay classy ;)
