Juice Cleansing So Far

So, since you guys are reading this, I guess that means that I’ve survived day 1 of my DIY; Juice cleanse! Only 2 more days to go!

I’ll be completely honest with all of you…the 1st day was BRUTAL! I LOVE my food! I’m not saying that I eat junk food all day, I don’t. I’m actually a pretty clean eater, but, I am an avid eater, if that makes sense. On top of that, I suck at drinking so much of any one thing! I try to chug the juice just to get it over with, but I suck at chugging!! I’m also somebody who hardly drinks while eating, I almost always wait until after my meal (unless I’m choking or something). So having to drink 8-10oz of something at once is proving to be quite difficult with me…but don’t worry! I’m pushing through with this!! Let me assure you, it’s not that the drinks taste bad, they’re actually quite enjoyable! It’s just the no-food situation ;)

I’m pretty sure my final review will be much different from now! This is only the first day, and I’ve heard it’s the hardest, but you do get used to it! So I’m looking forward to that :)

Just below, I’ve taken some pictures of the ingredients for each drink. I’ve also posted what it is that’s needed for each one. Each amount of ingredients posted makes about 14-16oz, enough for 2 drinks each. Check it out, and if you can juice, try some!! Like I mentioned, they’re quite tasty and undeniably good for you! ;) Have a wonderful hump-day and stay classy!

SONY DSCFirst we have our green juice which is drank 1st thing in the morning and also for supper! You’ll need; 3 stalks of kale, 1/2 cucumber, 3 green apples, 1 lemon, 1 lime, 5 stalks of celery, 2 handfuls of spinach, & a small nugget of gingerSONY DSC Next we have our spicy lemonade! You’ll need; 3 lemons, 14oz of water, 1tbl of agave (I used honey instead), & 1/2tsp of cayenne…but beware!! That cayenne’s spicy! If it’s your first time making/drinking this one, I would suggest starting off with a much less amount.SONY DSCCarrot juice! You’ll need; 3 carrots, 5 celery stalks, 3 green apples, 1 lemon, & 1 lime
SONY DSC Next up, the beet juice! You’ll need; 2 small beets, 3 carrots, 3 green apples, 1lemon, 1 lime, a small nugget of ginger, and I actually added in 1/2 cucumberSONY DSC The dessert!! Soooo tasty! This one has to be done in a blender because it’s a “cashew milk”. You’ll need; 4oz of raw cashews, 16oz of water, 1tbl of agave (once again, I used honey), 1tsp of vanilla, & 1 tsp of cinnamon SONY DSCVoila! A days worth of juice! Green, lemon, carrot, beet, green, & cashew! :)

DIY; Juice Cleanse

Realists, today I’ll be introducing a new kind of DIY; a homemade 3-day juice cleanse. As much as this is a fashion blog, just like my Breaking Bad post, I do like to write about everyday events that are on my mind, and this juice cleanse being one that I’d love to share!

It’s quite funny because I’m actually quite skeptical when it comes to these 3-day cleanses. I mean, I can hardly go 3 hours without eating, imagine 3 days! But I’ve been convinced enough to want to try it out. We recently invested in a juicer, and have been using it everyday since we received it. After doing much research on juicing, I then also felt that it was best if the hubby and I made our juices from scratch for the 3 days.

I’ll actually be using recipes from a blog called “…and her little dog too”. After reading many juice recipes, I stumbled across hers and really loved the way she laid everything out and enjoyed reading the experience she had with it (plus, I believe she has the same juicer as us :P) Today I’ll be starting the cleanse, so tomorrow I will have up all the pictures/recipes to make the juices for this cleanse!

Have any of you ever taken on one of these juice cleanses? Would you? I’m not going to lie, I still think it’s a little crazy, but hey! We’ve gotta live a little and try new things :P So don’t forget to read daily about my process, and if you’re up for it, you can start your own cleanse with me!

Have a wonderful Tuesday, and stay classy!

SONY DSCOur Breville Compact Juicer. DIY: Muscle Tank

Hello everyone!! Excuse me for being on hiatus for a little over a week, but I had a crazy week. Fear not, my friends, for I am back and at full force!! And what better way to start back then with a little something I’ve yet to do on the blog; DIY muscle tank!

I am a huge lover of a great muscle tank, and I am also guilty of owning way too many concert tees from way back. Although, I did have to get rid of a few (It was becoming borderline hoarding!), I did manage to keep a good amount for myself. So, for you today, I have a step-by-step on how to get a pretty bad-ass rocker-muscle-tee. Don’t worry, this can be done with any ol’ plain shirt you have sitting around!

Step 1:

SONY DSC

First off, you want to get all your materials together. One shirt, a pair of scissors, and a few pins

Step 2:

SONY DSC

What I did was put the shirt on and then proceeded to put pins where I wanted to cut from (shoulder width, and how low)

Step 3:

SONY DSC

Let the cutting begin! To make it a little easier, start by folding the shirt in half and then cut so you can make sure it’s even

Step 4:

Ta-da! Now, you’ve got yourself an awesome muscle tee! Don’t forget to always try it back on and make sure the shape is to your liking :)

Easy as 1-2-3! So simple, yet can be paired in so many ways! Not sure exactly how?? Don’t worry that’s where I come in! For the remainder of this week, I will be pairing this exact shirt with 4 different outfits, let it be casual, girly, or even a little more classy! So don’t forget to check in daily to get a few tips on how to pair your DIY muscle tee! Until tomorrows outfit, stay classy, realists! ;)
