What I wish I was wearing…

Realists, I’m still alive and kickin’! And trust me, I haven’t forgotten about all you lovelies out there. I mentioned several posts ago that I started working at TopShop, and this past week, my schedule has been all over the place. I even had to cancel my much needed hair appointment I mentioned about here :(. Just trying to get everything in order and on schedule, but ’tis a new week and  I’ll be sure to bring posts daily!

As a result of no time, no pictures have been taken. So for now, I give to you an outfit I would love to be wearing right now. The Balmain leather pants I posted are perfection, and I’ve been in love with those Anine Bing booties since I first laid eyes on them. How do you feel about a fall outfit like so? Something you can see yourself in, or have you already put this together?

Monday is here and a new week has begun! Have a wonderful one, and stay classy!

What I wish I was wearing...
River Island chunky chain necklace, $20 / Ray-Ban sunglasses. $220 / Paul Smith jacket, $1300 / Balmain snap pants, $4,080 / Club Monaco t shirt. $56 / Anine Bing ankle booties, $720 / Celine Trapeze Handbag

Ankle Booties

Fall is here and taking over any little heat we thought we had left. Time to put away our opened-toe shoes and pull out our socks again because we gotta keep our little toes warm.

There’s so many ways to keep our feet warm and stylish when it comes to fall fashion. You’ve got knee boots, over-the-knee boots, sneakers, combat boots, etc., but one trend being seen alongside all that’s been mentioned is the ankle boot. This type of footwear keeps your feet warm, all the while still staying on current fashion with showing a little ankle.

I myself have many pairs of shoes, but I must say, most of them are pretty much only summer-friendly. I’m currently shopping around for a great fall boot within my budget. One comfortable enough for everyday, and of course, one with a high heel ;)

Realists, have you invested in any ankle booties this fall? Or are you like myself and still shopping around? Below, I’ve posted up a few styles, with and without heels, to help give you some inspiration. Now, start shopping!!

Have a great Monday and stay classy.

Ankle Booties
Sergio Rossi ankle booties, $940 / Modcloth Laced up ankle boots, $46 / Rag & Bone heel booties, $510 / Sam Edelman beige suede boots, $165 / MICHAEL Michael Kors heel booties, $200 / Topshop ankle booties, $78 / H&M ankle booties, $41 / Report boots, $72 / Acne Studios ankle booties, $575

Ladies & Gents, I’ve officially come to accept the already known fact that summer is certainly over. As sad as I am, because who doesn’t love to bask in the sun with some booty shorts when that Jay-Z song is on, fall fashion is, without fail, one of the most perfect seasons to dress for. I’ve mentioned previously, and I’ll mention it again; you’ve got stylish booties, perfect bottoms (and by bottoms I mean pants, get your minds out of the gutter), amazingly-comfy oversized sweaters, and a huge trend this season (which I can’t wait to find one I like and pick it up), androgynous styled coats. Bring it on, fall. I’ve got this.

I picked up this blazer along with my many other items I recently purchased a few months ago from a Zara sale. I fell in love with it online, and even more in love once I put it on. I love the combination of the dark heathered charcoal body, accompanied by the faux-leather sleeves and under-collar. It’s edge meets class, something I really love.

I really am a huge fan of blazers, and blazers pretty much paired with anything. So here, I paired this lovely one with some boyfriend jeans and my high-top chucks. An outfit you can really do anything in, except maybe attend a wedding, I’m not down with the “jeans to weddings” thing. Go to school, shop around, grab a bite, hang out, etc, etc.

Tell me, Realists, do you love blazers as much as I do? I hope you really don’t mind looking at them because trust me when I say you’ll be seeing a nice variety up on the blog during fall ;) Have a great day, and stay classy!

Birthday Supper

SONY DSC

Hello fellow Realists! Hoping you all had a splendid weekend and getting back to the real world yesterday wasn’t too hard for you :)

This past Sunday was my birthday (woohoo), but since the hubby was out of town, he took me out for a nice supper this past Thursday. After wanting to take me to this restaurant for a while now, he made reservations at Le Filet, an outstanding restaurant that really lived up to everything I’ve heard. Honestly, if you came up to me and told me that this would be my last supper, I’d be cool with it! I would then proceed with licking my plates clean, because frankly, if it wasn’t such a classy place, I would’ve probably done that on Thursday ;) We’ve eaten at some great restaurants throughout the years, but the food here was really top notch, and the service? Excellent! You really do get what you pay for.

As for the outfit, I knew I had to pull out the floral shirt I once wore here (paired with shorts and floral heels), and it definitely had to be paired with my much loved leopard heels. Mixing prints is always fun, and leopard is being considered a neutral because of the abundance of prints it can be paired with. You can never go wrong with a little leopard in your life ;)

I’m off to continue with my fall cleaning!! Have a great Tuesday, Realists, and stay classy!

SONY DSCI finally bought an ear cuff! I’ve been wanting one for a while now, and after coming across this one, I knew I had to have it! I don’t really wear earrings anymore, except for the ones you always see there, so an ear cuff is the perfect accessory. They really add a lot of character to an outfit.

Week of Style; Plaid Shirt – Day 4

SONY DSC

Here we are, day 4 of our ‘Week of Style; Plaid Shirt’.

For today’s look, I pulled out these high-waisted, flared jeans, that have been sitting in my closet for, wow, a while now. I was going through all my clothes, trying on items left and right, figuring out whether I wanted to keep or donate. These pants were one of the “unsure” items, but after trying them on, I remembered why I bought them in the first place. Bought many years back, and they still look good today. As much as I fall in love with items that are in style at the moment, I also wear whatever I want. I will always have a soft spot for flared jeans, especially ones like these that are high-waisted AND flared.

While trying on my jeans, from the corner of my eye, I noticed my plaid shirt lying there. Instantly, I knew that they had to be worn together. I also love pairing wedges with flares, so I did just that.

The weather was not really working on our end. Raindrops were slowly starting to fall down from the cloud-filled sky, and i had little girls in the background asking me when we were going to be done. I’ll be the first to tell you these are not the greatest pictures, but you get the point :P

As for tomorrow, I will not be posting anything because I’ll be busy with some stuff at my new job. Yes, I recently got hired at Top Shop and have to go in early tomorrow to fill out papers and such. I’m super excited to be working there because I LOVE Top Shop!  Which means, today’s the final day of our ‘Week of Style; Plaid Shirt’. I hope you’re all inspired with my previous outfits here, here, and here, and of course todays, and are making your ways to malls around to pick up your own version of a plaid shirt. You won’t regret it ;)

We shall meet again on Monday! Have a great weekend and stay classy!

Week of Style; Plaid Shirt – Day 3

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

For some reason, todays weather has decided to shoot up to +28 degrees. Trust me, I’m not complaining, but I will be honest with you and say that it was a little warm while I was taking the pictures with my shirt, and I did remove it after they were done.

I’ve paired my plaid shirt with pants my last two posts here and here, so I then went on to put it together with my maxi skirt. This outfit would be great for weather that’s just warm enough for a slit on your skirt, but still cool enough for a long sleeved shirt. And, as I’ve mentioned previously, you can always tie the shirt around your waist when it starts to get a little too warm.

My last two posts were quite neutral, so I brought in some colors today by adding a lime green tank with my red heels. I know you’re probably getting sick of seeing them, but when you just feel so comfortable in a pair of shoes, you can’t help but want to pair it with everything in your wardrobe.

Mid-week once again, the weekend is near! Stay classy!

Week of Style; Plaid Shirt – Day 2

This past Saturday, we spent a good chunk of our day over at La Ronde, and I spent it in my new plaid shirt. So here, for all you Realists, is how I would style this particular shirt for a day out at an amusement park.

The weather was slightly chilly, but nothing us Montrealers can’t handle (unless you’re still stuck in summer mode and walking around with shorts and flip flops, which trust me, has been done by many), so instead of pairing something over my shirt, I went with a longer shirt under my plaid one. The perks of doing this? If you get too hot, you can always remove your button-down and tie it around your waist a-la 90’s style, which, clearly, is very popular at the moment.

I was in a very black-and-white color combo that day, hence the reason why, well, I have no color. The pants are riding pants from American Apparel, and if you haven’t tried them on, you won’t understand, but if you have, then you will understand how unbelievably tight they are! I mean, I guess it’s a good thing because they keep anything from hanging out, but I did have to visit the washroom more than usual (they are extremely high-waisted as well)! But, all that aside, I do fancy the look, and was quite comfortable. Having to get in and out of all those kiddie rides, I have to make sure what I’m wearing is flexible ;)

Casual and comfy, perfect for a day out shopping, or like myself, enjoying the rides at an amusement park. Don’t forget to check in tomorrow to see day 3 of our ‘Week of Style; Plaid Shirt’. Stay classy!

Week of Style; Plaid Shirt – Day 1

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

Happy Monday, Realists! Hope you all had a great and fulfilling weekend :) As mentioned on Friday’s post here, today is the 1st of day of a new ‘Week of Style’ featuring a plaid shirt.

As I was strolling through my local Maxi, I slowly walked by (as I always do) the Joe Fresh section of the store. Browsing through, looking for a specific dress I just previously saw on a commercial, I then proceeded to catch eyes with this wonderful plaid shirt. First in blue, and then black. I quickly ran over, touched it, and knew it had to go into my shopping cart. Best part? $19! It’s so hard nowadays to come across decent looking clothing, made out of comfortable fabric, for a reasonable price. Joe Fresh really hit all the marks with this one.

I immediately wore it that same day (I usually wash my clothing first, but was really itching to wear it right away) with some skinny jeans and flats for a casual outfit to the mall. The 1st way I wanted to show you how I would dress this shirt is by bringing up the style a notch and adding a nice watch, some bracelets, and a pair of high heels. Still quite casual, but adding heels to an outfit always make it that much more interesting. I also threw on some dark pink lipstick to bring a little color to the whole ensemble. Not a lipstick girl, but still feel like brightening up your outfit a bit?? I always love adding some colored heels to tie it all together. They for sure know how to make an outfit that much more interesting.

Keep reading for the remainder of the week to find out a few more ways on how I would style a plaid shirt. Have a wonderful Monday, and stay classy!

Amazing Heel Deal

SONY DSC

Now, I know I mentioned in yesterdays post here that I would be featuring my newly purchased plaid shirt today, but I lied. Only a little, so hear me out. As I was sitting here writing my post for today, I couldn’t stop thinking about the multiple outfits I could put together using only one shirt. I then thought it best that instead of giving you one outfit, I’ll give you one a day, for a week! So starting Monday, I’ll be posting a new ‘Week of Style’ featuring the aforementioned plaid shirt :)

Until then, I’ve really been wanting to show you Realists these new heels I picked up for a ridiculous price. Long story short, I’ve been eyeing these Rachel Zoe heels from Winners since I first saw them hit the racks. Original price: $400, Winners: $200. Now, as much as I loved them I couldn’t just drop $200 on a pair of shoes right now. Let me cut to the chase, saw them on sale a couple of weeks ago for, *drum-roll* $40!! Yes, $40 for a pair of heels that was originally $400. Amazing, I know. And the last in my size! Obviously, we were meant to be ;)

I love finding great sales, I mean, who doesn’t. Would love to hear any amazing sales you’ve ever been so lucky to come across! Stay tuned Monday for the start of a ‘Week of Style; Plaid shirt’. Have a wonderful weekend, and stay classy!

Mad for Plaid

It’s no secret that the 90’s has made a comeback in fashion the past few months, and following months as well. With crop tops being seen everywhere, grungy styles, flatforms/platforms, shirts/sweaters/anything that has sleeves wrapped around our waists, and I can go on and on mentioning the many influences being seen on the streets, in magazines, and websites galore.

The one 90’s trend I’m posting about today is plaid. A print that was first introduced at the end of the 16th century, then later popularized in the 60’s, huge in the 90’s, and now back in the…well, 2013.

You can find plaid shirts, pants, bags, scarves, etc. Looking for a specific item in plaid? I guarantee you can find it somewhere, somehow. Here I put together a few different items that sport the particular pattern, and pieces that I fancy. I actually purchased my first (that’s a lie. I owned a couple of plaid shirts way back when while sitting on my bed listening to none other than Nirvana…ok, and BSB….that’s right, BSB over Nsync anyday!), plaid shirt since forever ago and will happily be featuring it tomorrow! For today, hope you enjoy the chosen items seen below!

Are you a fan? Not so much? Own an item, or two, or three, of the mentioned pattern? Do tell! Have a wonderful day, and stay classy!

P.s. How awesome is that plaid bra?? Worn under a muscle tee, with a little peek of the print = hot! And I need those jeans in my life!

Mad for Plaid
Equipment long sleeve shirt, $260 / Forever 21 lace bra, $10 / H&M sleeveless shirtdress, $25 / Forever 21 hair clip, $1.89 / Forever 21 backpack, $26 / Paige Denim jeans, $200 / Alice + Olivia skirt, $210 / NIKE sneaker, $235 / Chinese Laundry flat shoes, $63
