Caged Tank

SONY DSC

Today I’m posting an outfit I first put together while in Vegas. I really liked the way these 2 pieces complimented each other, and couldn’t wait until it was hot enough here in Montreal to be able to wear this ensemble again. Lucky me, as mentioned yesterday, the heat’s here, which meant it was time to pull them out of my closet!

I love the bright color of the shorts, and they’re the perfect fit. A go-to short for the summer, but the top is really what makes this outfit stand out. I bought this item a few months ago, and as I was scrolling through the clothing on Nastygal, I then came across this particular piece and knew I had to own it.  I’m so into anything with an opened-back, especially when they’re this good. And hey, any reason to not wear a bra, is a good reason, you with me, ladies? ;)

Hope you all have a lovely rest of your Friday and a great weekend! Stay classy, realists!

Finally, some heat!

SONY DSC

Yay!! Montreal has finally decided to start warming up (Mind you, the weather still calls for thunder showers in the next few days, but I’ll take it if it comes with 25+ degree heat)! So for all you ladies & gents over here in the beautiful city of Montreal, get ready to start showing some skin, because I can feel the sun beginning to beam down :)

I kept it casual and simple today with a loose tee, a skirt, and some converse. An outfit like this can be completely changed with just the switch of a shoe, or even a different top. So versatile, and yet, still looks cool. I also have to add that I think these $10 sunnies from Aldo have slowly made their way to being my favorite pair at the moment. Round sunglasses are pretty popular this season, although, I personally have always had a soft spot for them (I’d like to thank Johnny Depp for that). I find this particular pair to be the perfect size for my face. Must search for more!!

On another note, the girls decided they wanted to take part in today’s photoshoot, so please enjoy the pictures! Enjoy the rest of your day, and stay classy!

Breaking Bad

breaking bad

Today I’ll be writing about something a little different. Now, while my passion is for fashion, I do enjoy a good t.v. series, and right now, the hubby and I are totally obsessed with Breaking Bad.

Here’s how we’ve been spending our nights since we started; have supper, play a little with the girls, get them ready for bed, read them a book…or 2…or 3…ok, finally in bed (never means they’re sleeping), and watch, watch, watch. Do we even converse anymore? Sure, about the show!! It’s just so addictive! We’ve watched many t.v. series, and I have to say, this is slowly becoming my favorite one so far. The action and suspense that you’re put through in literally every episode is ridiculous!

Right now, we’re half-way through season 2. The second part of season 5 (which is the series finale) starts August 1st, and I’ve got no doubt in my mind we’ll be done by then. It’s funny how the show is about meth, and I’m so addicted to the show as if I were on the drug myself! It’s a roller-coaster of a ride, and like I just mentioned, we’re only half-way through season 2! And from what I hear by everyone who watches it, and is up to date, it’s yet to fail them. It’s so amazing to see Bryan Cranston, who once played the overly eccentric, and not so there, dad on Malcolm in the Middle, now playing this dramatic, and almost scary at times, role of Walter White. A chemist diagnosed with lung cancer, cooking meth to make money for his family. Genius, I tell you, genius! And one of the many questions we ask ourself after almost every episode? “I wonder if they’re any chemists watching this and thinking they could/should do it too!” What do you think?? :P

Are any of you on the Breaking Bad bandwagon? If you are, I know you’re sitting there telling yourself “YES!! SO TRUE!!” And if you’re not, myself and everyone else who is, we’re all collectively saying “GET ON IT! NOW!” This is a show you’ll definitely not regret.

Aside from Breaking Bad, what other shows are you overly obsessed with?? I’d love to hear what you think we should watch next, and also your thoughts on this particular series!

My pink suede shoes

SONY DSC

Mondays & Tuesdays, I usually pick up the girls from daycare and spend supper at my parents’ house. A little thought; when you first move out of the house you grew up in, to go live on your own, most of us want to get as far away from our parents as we can. Trust me, when you have kids, it’s almost the complete opposite. You WANT to be close to parents! Going over there is like a mini vacation.  You could just sit back while they do all the work. Thanks, Mommy & Papa ;)

Now, getting back to where this whole post started. When it’s winter, I almost don’t care what I wear when heading over there. I mean, who’s going to see and judge me? But during the summer, I finally get the chance to pull out all my cute clothes and shoes, so any chance I get to sport them out of the house, I take it!!

This top was a last minute grab while heading to the cash at the DKNY in Woodbury. I didn’t try it on. We were all tired, wet (was raining all day :() and just wanted to get out of there and head back home. I’m so happy I decided to pick it up! One wear, and I’m pretty sure this will now become my go-to tank top. So comfy, love the color, and fits perfect! And these shoes…how can you turn your back on a sweet pair of pink suede shoes with metal heels. The cherry on top? The tiny insert of faux-croc on the heel of the shoe. Love! I thank the hubby for finding these among the many women ripping through the shoe boxes at Neiman Marcus; Last Call.

Realists, hope you all had a lovely start to the week! Remember, when summer’s around, take any opportunity you get to just dress up!

Running Errands in a Striped Maxi

SONY DSC

Happy Monday, Realists! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We spent it…inside. Both days indoors. The weather this weekend was far from “let’s spend the day outside” type of weather. Cold, rainy, and just overall gloomy. So we opted to just have some quality time at home all together :)

Not going out = no outfits. No outfits = no posts. No posts = no good. Don’t worry, I’ll make it work! ;) Not the first time I’ve done this. I have some errands to run today, so I figured I would snap some pictures, come back in, write a quick post, and then continue about my day.

A maxi dress. That perfect piece of clothing that allows you to be comfy and stylish all at the same time. They’re so versatile, have so many styles, and can really be worn at pretty much almost any occasion. Bold prints, stripes, solids, a maxi dress comes in so many personalities. And depending on how you style it, your whole ensemble can completely change. You can pair them with sneakers for a more sporty, casual vibe. Sandals for a cute and everyday look. Or heels for a classy, going out for a nice supper look. Oh, the possibilities!

I opted for a striped maxi with some comfy sandals. Easy to run around in, all the while still looking chic. I topped it all off with a straw fedora.

Now I’m off! Hope you’ll have a wonderful Monday, and stay classy!

A Rainy Day

SONY DSC

Montreal weather is kind of bringing me down. Yesterday was raining at points, but then it was also sunny and warm. Today, well, it’s just rainy, gloomy, and cold. I say boo to you Montreal weather! Although, I tried not to let it bring me down, so I brightened up my ensemble of the day with a neon pink tee.

What better way to bring some cheer and color into an outfit, or just your day in general, than with a super bright colored top. Pants also work, but when it’s raining, I prefer to go with a darker jean, this way if any sidewalk water gets splashed on me, it’s not as noticeable ;)

I’m hoping the weekend will bring some nicer weather (even though the weather network says no :() so that I can put these boots to rest and pull out cute shoes and hopefully a nice dress ;) Stay classy, realists!

A Casual Supper

SONY DSCSONY DSC

Yesterday, my family and I went out to have supper. Nothing fancy, just a simple Chinese restaurant (Tong Por, if ever you’re in Saint-Laurent and are a fan of Chinese cuisine, quite tasty! Check it out!). Now, just because there was no need to dress up, doesn’t mean that I couldn’t pull out a pair of my favorite heels!

Yes, I did wear heels, but the rest of my outfit was kept very simple with a plain white tank, and boyfriend jeans. I was eyeing these heels since I first saw them at the Louboutin store, and you can only imagine how I felt when I came across them at the Neiman Marcus; Last Call in San Francisco. Crazy price, last one, and my size!! Needless to say, the husband didn’t try to put up much of a fight after seeing the price and they came straight home with me ;)

Heels, a little lipstick, some jewelry. Such an easy way to make a classic tee + jean combo that much more interesting! A go-to outfit that can be special every time :)

With the weather being a bit chilly in Montreal, I thought that this was the perfect go-to outfit! Hopefully wherever you’re reading this from, the weather is a bit nicer than ours! Stay classy realists!

Flatforms; Yes or No?

There’s a shoe trend going on right now as I’m writing this post that I’m not sure how I feel about. Flatforms. A one-height wedged shoe. Not sure if love it or hate it. Wedges, yes. Heels with a platform, definitely yes. Flatforms?? I’m still on the edge about them. Personally, I need a little arch on my shoes. Sexier looking? I would like to think so. More comfortable? I think my shoes with platforms are extremely comfortable, and I’m sure flatforms are as well. I just…I just don’t know.

As I was searching for some different styles, I did come across a few that I thought were cute. I put together a collage of flatforms trying to find the ones that I liked the most, but I’m not guaranteeing that they’re all to my flavour.

What are your takes on flatforms? Do you go running to them, or away from them? I am always eager to hear what you guys think, so don’t be shy and let me know! :) Stay classy, realists!

The Remaining of NY Summed Up

Back in good ol’ Montreal…where the weather right now is a little rainy, but looks like it’ll get better by the weekend! Lucky for us, the day we left New York, the weather there was also gloomy and raining, which was fine since our previous days were quite sunny and nice.

There are only so many pictures, but let me tell you, we did have a great time! I haven’t walked so much in quite a while, so it felt nice to just be able to do that (even though our legs were KILLING by the next day :P). As I mentioned in my last post what we were planning on doing, we spent a good amount of our Saturday strolling through the MET. The exhibit I wanted to see most was the Punk: From Chaos to Couture. What an exhibit! The fashions that were displayed were phenomenal and it was so exciting to see all these different designers’ outfits. Such art! If you’re in the area, or are heading there soon, go check it out! It’s really something, along with the many other exhibits going on there, that shouldn’t be missed!

Now that my vacation fun is over (Vegas & New York), expect daily posts coming your way! I’m hoping to incorporate some other types of posts (i.e. recipes, fitness, diy, etc) so if any of you have any suggestions on what you would like to read, throw them my way! Like I always mention, I love to hear your thoughts! Until next time, stay classy realists ;)

Blue & Green in NYC

SONY DSCSONY DSC

“Blue & green should never be seen unless it’s in the washing machine.” Anyone ever hear of this saying?? A friend of mine told this to me yeeeeaaaaaars back when I paired something blue & green together. Ever since hearing that, anytime I even thought of pairing the colors together, this would come to mind. Until one day I just said “F that”, and I remember putting together a pair of turquoise pants with a dark blue blouse. Needless to say, it looked great!! And I’ve done something similar again yesterday for our walk around The Big Apple!

The weather was not too warm, but not too cold, which meant for the most part, pants & a light jacket were needed. I instantly fell in love with this lime green top while shopping in Vegas (yes, apparently I had another item I forgot about! Well, here it is ;)). At first, I admit that I would’ve paired the top with a neutral blazer, until I thought to myself, once again, “F that!” So out came that turquoise blazer I love oh-so-much!! Where does the blue come in? Well, I needed to carry something around for my girly things, and went with my blue clutch. Blue & green! I would like to think that they work together, you just have to be a little more careful with the shades while pairing them :)

Now we’re off to eat some more, as always, and we’ll be checking out the MET today and I’m super stoked! Have a great day, and stay classy!
