Grand-parents’ 50th anniversary

DSC04500

This past Saturday was a big deal for our family. It was my grand-parents’ 50th anniversary! 50 years together. I think “Wow!”, and then I remember “Oh right, I’m married too and will be making that mark one day as well…” This August is my 5th anniversary (woohoo!) Another 45 years to go ;)

To help celebrate this wonderful occasion, we all decided to throw them a surprise party at this awesome Greek restaurant called Mythos. My grand-parents are as Greek as they come, so to know that they would enjoy eating/dancing here was a given!

Now, any reason for me to dress up is a good reason, although  I like to believe that you don’t really “need” a reason, per se. So, with the weather really warming up in Montreal, I had the pleasure of pulling out this beautiful maxi dress that I’m absolutely in love with. Everything from the colors, to the way it fits, down to the draped fabric on the right side. Also, for this special occasion, I felt that it was a perfect time to pull out my wedding shoes. I try to wear these sexy babies as often as I can!

On another note, I’ll be leaving for Sin City tomorrow. Yes, Las Vegas, baby! I’m so excited for this trip because I’ll be spending it with some of my cousins, and I’ve yet to go to Vegas with only girls. I’ll be sure to continue with my posts, so make sure to tune in and read all about my vacation in Vegas!

You don’t need me to remind you, stay classy, realists!

A Stylist’s Style

DSC04423

Happy Monday! As I mentioned in a previous post, yesterday I had the opportunity to take part in a photo shoot for a couple of friends’ album launch. Like I explained in my “About Me” section, I’m a fashion designer turned stylist. I do still enjoy making clothing at home for myself, children, and close family and friends, but there’s something about being able to dress someone in clothing they wouldn’t normally choose for themselves! I love making people think outside of the box;) I had so much fun on set yesterday, and can’t wait for the next one!

Now, I also brought up about how I would be posting pictures for all of you to see, but as per the musical artists’ requests, I will be post-poning any pictures on set until they have publicized their own first. So, for now, I give you the outfit I wore that day!

A simple, yet still fun, outfit that is not restraining when needing to make sure the boys looked perfect! Yes, it’s those pants again…and the blazer…I know, it looks like I literally only own 1 pair of pants, but these are so comfy and perfect, that I can’t not always find an excuse to pull them out! I swear, I have a vast selection of jeans, I just really like these ;) As for the blazer, same goes with that! I know you all have those favorite items you can’t stop yourself from wearing :P

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, realists. Tomorrow, I will be posting about this beautiful dress I had the pleasure of wearing to my grand-parent’s 50th anniversary, so make sure to check in! And stay classy!

Shopping casual

SONY DSC

Yesterday was a busy day for me (hence the reason why I didn’t get the chance to post anything. Please forgive me!). I was running around the shopping mall, preparing for a photo shoot I’ll be styling this coming Sunday (Yes, I style! Stay tuned, pics and stories to come!), which meant I needed a versatile enough outfit to run in and out of stores, all the while holding tons of shopping bags.

Sneakers, skinnies, and a loose top. Pretty much my go-to outfit when in times like these. Stylish-comfy can still be done while sporting some Converse ;) I’ve featured these jeans and sweater on the blog before, but they have yet to be together, until now! I love the faded blue on these jeans paired up against a bright color, in this case, orange. Along with the white sneakers, a casual, yet far from boring, ensemble!

I’m excited to show you guys pictures from the shoot, so make sure to check in! Until then, realists, stay classy :)

Linen for the office

SONY DSC

My brother recently gave me an idea for a post. He is one of the many people that have to go into an office Monday to Friday, so he suggested I post about an outfit appropriate for an office environment. So here is my take on an ensemble suitable for work featuring the linen pant!

I love a great pair of linen pants. I’ve had these pants for quite a few years now, and it’s great because they never go out of style! How do you say no to a neutral, linen pant? Perfect for the beach, shopping, dinner, movies, or as seen here, the workplace! It all depends on what you pair them with.

What are your takes on a linen pant? What about linen in general? You know I love to hear your thoughts, so please, tell me! :) And continue to stay classy, the weekend is just around the corner ;)

SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSCLove the color-blocking on these shoes! It’s always that subtle touch that makes an item stand out ;)SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSCShirt: Mango, Pants: Calvin Klein, Shoes: BCBG

Tribal inspired mini dress

SONY DSC

Yesterday I wrote a post about bold prints being hot and in this season! To continue on with that topic, I put together an outfit today with a tribal inspired pattern.

What I like about this dress is that not only is it comfy and looks super cute, but you can wear it either dressed up for a night out with the girls, or dressed down to go grocery shopping! You can also pair it with some black tights on chillier days, like I did this morning. Also, I mentioned yesterday that you can definitely mix and match prints, which is what I did here. Instead of pairing the dress with a solid, neutral sweater (which is what I was planning on doing at first), I decided to combine the print of my dress with the stripes on this particular sweater. Patterns can absolutely mingle ;)

I hope that wherever you’re reading this from, the weather is starting to warm up for you as well, or if you’re one of the lucky ones, you’re already wearing shorts ;) As always, stay classy, realists!

All about being bold!!

Hello realists!! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! :)

This week, I thought I would start it off with a spring/summer ’13 trend that I absolutely love…bold prints!

There’s a perfect print for everyone out there. Whether it be floral, polka dots, or even fruits, I guarantee you will find a print that works for your body, skin-tone, etc. I for one love pretty much any type of print. If it’s bold and screams “Look at me!!” you can assure that I’ll be trying it on!

Not comfortable with wearing a print?? What about carrying one? Or walking on one? Bags, clutches, hats, shoes, they all can be found with some kind of bold print that can sometimes stand out more than your striped top. That one perfect item will add so much character to an ensemble, but always make sure to not go overboard. You don’t want to end up looking like you got dressed in the dark :P But please, do feel adventurous and mix some prints together! There are definitely some patterns that you would believe were made to be worn together, you just have to try it out ;)

Just below, I’ve posted some items that I found to be quite eye-catching! Hope you enjoy my picks!

Are any of you fans of prints?? Maybe sporting some right now? ;) If you are a lover of them, what type of prints usually catch your eye first?? I always love to hear your thoughts! Stay classy, realists!

All about being bold!

Muscle Tank; The finale!

SONY DSC

Today is the finale of our “DIY muscle tank” outfit combos. We had casual/chic, then I gave you sporty, yesterday was full of clean and sharp details, and today, I give to you something that is pretty much expected of a rocker tee…an everyday, grungish look! Something I would definitely wear to a concert, or just strolling around doing some shopping.

A pair of jean shorts, some black high-knee socks, a striped cardigan, all topped off with the ultimate cherry; a classic pair of black Chucks. Comfy, cute, and can really be worn all day, everyday. This whole outfit makes me feel like a teenager again ;)

And there you have it! The conclusion to this weeks DIY! One shirt, 4 ways. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Did anyone jump on board with me during this? If so, I would love to hear about how you styled, or would style your own muscle tee! While on this note, I would also love to bring you some more DIY’s in the future! Realists, any suggestions?? I’m very interested to know what you would like to see next! Until the next post, as always, muscle tee or not, stay classy ;)

Muscle Tank; chic

SONY DSC

As mentioned in yesterday’s post, I decided to go with a more chic ensemble for my newly made muscle tee. I chose to pair it with blue pants, and a bright turquoise blazer to give it some color!

I know this post is supposed to be about my new DIY muscle tee, but I just had to say that I absolutely love these blue pants! I was strolling through Simons, saw them featured on a mannequin and knew I just had to have them! The fabric on the pants are so nice and soft which makes them super extra comfy. I find these pants to be quite classy, yet at the same time, still has a subtle touch of casualness with the elastic hem.

As I was sitting in my room, trying to decide which shoes would go best, the hubby and I both agreed with these Jeffrey Campbell‘s. I scored these babies for an awesome price on Solestruck‘s Black Friday sale. A simple, black pump, which is clearly, far from simple, just like me! And as for the whole ensemble put together, I have to say that it has been deemed my favorite one so far this week! I was obviously happy with my other ones, I would never post anything I didn’t think looked good ;), but this one was special. I can’t wait to go out for a dinner or some drinks just so I can have an excuse to wear this all again.

Tomorrow is the final DIY muscle tee outfit! Don’t forget to check in and see how it all ends! Stay classy, realists!

Muscle Tank; Sporty with a twist!

SONY DSC

Here we are! Outfit #2 of our DIY muscle tee! Yesterday’s outfit was a casual/chic one, today, how’s about something a little sportier?

As I was sitting and staring into my closet, I kept thinking “How can I make this work, looking sporty, but without being too literal?” Here it is! A bodycon dress (which has also made an appearance once before, but as a striped version), with the tee paired over it, perfect! Throw on some black tights, since the weather’s still a little brisk, and combined them with wedged sneakers. The great thing about the versatility of this outfit is that you can really throw on any comfy sneaker, boot, whatever your preference may be, and it’ll work just as great!

Tomorrow, I think I’m going to throw in some classier fabrics, so stay tuned!! And as always, stay classy ;)

Muscle Tank; Casual / Chic

SONY DSC

“Rain, rain, go away! Come again…” never?? ;) The weather is warming up in Montreal. Spring is finally creeping up on us! Which, sadly, does bring us days of rain. Just because the day’s a little on the gloomy side, doesn’t stop me from bringing you outfit #1 of my DIY muscle tee!

Today, I wanted to bring you a casual/chic outfit that can really be worn on so many occasions. Movies, lunch, dinner, and even drinks with the girls. Casual enough to not be too dressy, but still has that pop with the extra high, skinny heels (love a great single-sole heel! No pain, no gain ;))!

Instead of pairing this all with a simple pair of jeans, I just bought these awesome camo pants and knew that they were perfect for this outfit! Camouflage print is showing up everywhere this season, and rightfully so! It’s a chic looking pair of pants with an added touch of ruggedness. Topped off with a faux-leather bomber. Outfit #1!

Make sure to check in tomorrow for outfit #2! Will I be going for an everyday ensemble, or something a little more dressy? You’ll soon find out! Until tomorrow, stay classy, realists!

SONY DSCLove these Gap jeans! They never seem to fit right, so I was stoked to put these on & have a perfect fit!SONY DSCWhat do you guys think of my new hair??
