Realists, the time has come. Snow has made it’s way down to our Montreal grounds for the first time this year. Out come the winter coats, boots and accessories for the next few months. Also, unfortunately, outdoor pictures will be on pause until it is bearable enough for me to stand outside and not have to risk catching anything I don’t want to catch.
With the amount of amazingly designed winter coats out on the market, it’s easy to stay warm and still continue to be stylish at the same time. Although, I will add, that depending on your city, sometimes cold will outweigh your wanting to stay on trend and you’ll do whatever it takes to keep you warm, as I do sometimes feel over here in good ol’ Montreal.
Realists around the world, has your winter made an appearance yet? Do you find it hard to stay warm and stylish? Just below I’ve posted up several coats that fall into those 2 categories. Bundle up, and stay classy!

It doesn’t fail when it comes to one question I get asked constantly on a daily from my 2 girlies…”Mommy, can I wear a dress?” A dress, a dress, a pretty dress, a fancy dress, any kind of dress, they want it. During the summer, it’s clearly much easier to always be putting them in one, but now once the colder weather has hit, so do the big sweaters and warmers pants. But since no snow has made it’s way to our grounds yet, why not put these lil cuties in some fall dresses along with fall tights? Even children’s wear transitions from summer to fall ;)
Let’s all jump for joy as it’s Friday and the weekend is here! Have a great one, and stay classy!
Hehe, funny smiles :)

Older Cutie: Dress: Gap Kids, Tights: H&M
As I showed on a sneak peek in my previous post here, I finally got my hair did. It’s my first time experiencing with pastel colors, so I must admit that I wasn’t too fond of it at the beginning. I’m so used to bright colors that the pastel chalkness going on in my hair was throwing me off. I’m happy to say about 2 weeks and many compliments later, I am absolutely in love with it!!! It’s a very different look from what I’m used to, and again as I mentioned previously, it’s nice to get out of your box at times and try new things :)
Have you recently stepped out of your box and tried something new? Comment below, you know I love to read what all you Realists have to say! Have an awesome day and stay classy!
Coat: Banana Republic, Scarf: Aldo
How awesome is my, as a co-worker put it, my “My Little Pony” hair?? A nice mix of pastel purple, turquoise and coral. Click on the pic to zoom in and see it even better :)
Love that lace insert.
Blazer: H&M for Fashion Star, Bodysuit: American Apparel, Pants: Levis, Shoes: TOPSHOP, Sunglasses: Diesel
Afternoon/evening, fellow Realists! Happy Tuesday!
As you can see, it’s been a little bit of a challenge to be able to post as frequently as I used to. Having to balance family, our house, and now my new job, I’m still working on getting it all together so that I can get back to writing daily posts, or at least 4 days/week ;)
Since it’s official that there’s no turning back to warm weather for the next few months, adding tights/stockings to summer favorites are pretty much the best way to make your items fall friendly. When I first saw this playsuit make its way into the store, I instantly had a connection to it. Funny thing, I thought it was a dress at first, and after finding out it was actually a romper (if you’ve been following me for a while now, you can understand my love for shorts), I needed it even more. It’s interesting because this is actually not a piece I would usually see myself in, but it’s always nice to try on new pieces and step out of your box of comfort :)
What tips do you have on transitioning your summer favorites fall/winter friendly? Stay warm, Realists, and stay classy!
I FINALLY made it to the salon to do my hair. Stay tuned for full colors next post ;)
I know this is probably a “photographers mistake”, but clearly we are no professional photographers, I kinda really like the way this photo came out :P

I am one of those people who crave Halloween. It’s honestly my favorite time of year. From ghosts and ghouls, to giving out candy to all the trick-or-treaters that make their way to our candy station, it’s a “holiday” that can’t be missed. The only thing I can do without pretty much every Halloween, is the cold that constantly follows my Halloween escapades (which, for me, has been the past 2 days. No fun). I always think to myself “Why am I sick? This downright sucks” and I believe it’s finally dawned on me that it must be my running around on Hallows Eve, in the cold, and in this years case, rain, in nothing but ripped up clothing. *sigh* Will that stop me? Never! I love it too much.
On a happier, or scarier, however you look at it, note, here are the few pictures I promised from my last post here. As I mentioned, there aren’t as many as I had hoped for, but it does give you an idea of how Halloween goes down around here.
Halloween; love it or hate it? Let me know! Always a pleasure to read your thoughts. Stay classy, Realists!
One of my sisters channeling her inner Michonne from ‘Walking Dead‘ (my other one was Maggie, but unfortunately no decent pictures were taken)
Yes, that’s me eating a hand portraying a ‘walker’ a.k.a. zombie from ‘Walking Dead’
My brother and I all gruesomed up for the part. Oh how I love dressing up!
The hubby and I as Princess Peach and Mario for a Halloween party we attended on the Friday…clearly we need to see a doctor
Happy Tuesday, Realists! Hope you all had a great Halloween and a wonderful weekend. I’m a huge lover of Halloween and everything spooky that comes along with it. I unfortunately didn’t take too many shots of my outfits this year, but I do have a few that I’ll be putting together for your enjoyment ;)
Until those pictures come, today I have for you an outfit I wore this past Friday. Every Friday at work, we have something called “Fashion Friday”. There’s a theme for the day, and we all participate in showing our version of said theme. A couple of past examples would be prints and leather. This past Friday was one that I honestly wasn’t too excited about at first, but then came around to loving it. We had to channel a celebrity’s style. A friend and I at work decided to take another route and channel a TV couple on a hit show; Gossip Girl.
Yes, we did the couple that everyone must adore if having watched that show, Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf. I, of course, could not pass up the opportunity to channel my inner Chuck Bass, and let me tell you, I had tons of fun sporting this throughout my work shift (other than the fact that I was getting quite hot under all those lights in a long sleeve shirt & blazer).
Is there a certain celebrity that you just love to get fashion influence from? And most importantly, were you as huge a fan of Gossip Girl as I was? Comment below and let me know! Stay classy!
My first time wearing a bow-tie, and I’m hoping it’s not my last! So much fun to wear one.
Love when there’s a fancy under-collar on a blazer.
Chuck and Blair <3
Blazer & Pants: Zara, Shirt: Mango, Shoes: Aldo, Bow-tie: Topman
The cold is definitely here, so enter the oversize, chunky sweaters. A fall/winter staple for anyone who has to endure the ever-so-cold temperatures of 10 degrees and lower.
Chunky knits are definitely something I need (or want, however you look at it) that I need to stock up on this fall/winter. They’re a great investment, and look great paired with almost anything in your wardrobe. Skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, skirts, dresses, the list goes on and on. I also love that because of the wide array of textures and fabrics chunky sweaters come in, they can be dressed up or down depending on your mood or occasion.
Thoughts on chunky knits? Do you own a few, or are shopping for a few? Here are several styles that fit the perfect chunky sweater category.
Stay classy, Realists!
, $1,125 / Theory sweater
, $350 / Vanessa Bruno chunky knit sweater
, $535 / Topshop sweater
, $88 / Long sleeve shirt
, $24 / STELLA McCARTNEY sweater
, $1,060 / Proenza Schouler ombre top
, $805 / Peter Jensen chunky cable sweater
, $360 / Steven Alan long sleeve sweater
I’ve mentioned it before, but once again, blue (anything but a too dark navy) and black are one of my favorite color combos to put together. What are one of your preferred color combinations? Do tell!
Have a wonderful hump day and stay classy!
I love the textured body against the classic sleeves
Blazer, pants & shoes: TOPSHOP, Top: Zara, Watch: Fossil, Rings: Aldo & TOPSHOP
Wow. What a bad blogger I’ve been. I don’t even know how I’ve stayed away for a little over 2 weeks, and I apologize. My days have been so hectic with starting my new job, along with my family life. I am back, though!! And better than ever ;) BUT, and an unfortunate but, due to our lovely Montreal weather, *insert sarcasm here*, outfit photos will have to begin being taken indoors. Yes, I know the lighting and scenery is clearly better outdoors, but I would rather a blank wall to accompany my outfit rather then a cold :P I’ll try to get as many pictures out of the house as I can, but for the meantime, please enjoy my grey wall.
As I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve been hunting for perfect booties that would fit my style, as well as my wallet. I was thrilled when I came across these booties while setting up the shoe stock room. They’re perfect, as they can be worn with a dress or jeans, and the heel is high enough for some height, and low enough to be worn at work.
Are you a fan of fall fashion, or do you long for the days of shorts & ice cream? Do tell!! Have an enjoyable day and stay classy!
Yes, another plaid shirt to go with the one I featured on my week of style here (and here, here, here :P)
The gold plate on these heels is what really caught my eye. I’ve always mentioned how much I love simple items with that added touch, and these booties fall right into that category.
Top: Joe Fresh, Pants: Vero Moda, Shoes: TOPSHOP, Sunglasses: ZeroUV
Yesterday I showed you what I wore to my friend’s wedding ceremony here, and today, the reception.
You can’t go wrong with a maxi dress. Unless, of course, you’re wearing a white maxi dress. Well, then again, please don’t ever wear white to a wedding. Or cream, or very light peach. I always say steer clear of anything that can even remotely be considered a bridal dress :P
Let’s also take a moment to step back and see yet another statement necklace featured around my neck. I wasn’t lying when I said I was going to pick up my necklace game. I fell in love with this piece at a BCBG sale, and have never regretted it. Unfortunately, the necklace broke on me at one point, but luckily for my handy crazy glue skills, it looks like nothing has ever happened.
Have a great day, and stay classy!
